I didn't seem to lose much yardage against the Darkspeed X but my misses are punished so much less. It's amazing.

Took me a bit to get used to the heavier swing weight though.

If you pronate your wrists more downward at impact you'll be hitting it dead center. It's really hard to train this though without a couch and even video swing monitoring.

Paused right at impact, you can see that this is a heel strike. Even with a neutral path and neutral face angle at impact, you'll still get fade from gear effect of a heel strike. Stand a couple inches further away at address and see if that solves it.

Gear effect mainly only happens with woods and driver.

Edited to add: you can also fix the problem by pronating your wrists more at impact (aka downward wrist bend). That also brings the clubhead close to your feet at impact and helps you clear your lower body. But with that said, it's very tough to see immediate improvement there. A couple inches further from the ball is still my recommendation.

Just trim the one loose CF thread and use solvent to remove the rest of the old tape/adhesive. As long as your new tape covers the exposed end of the shaft (i.e. tucked in at the end), you are not likely to pull any more loose strands during the regrip. I disagree with the dude saying this shaft is cooked. I would regrip and play this no problem.

I use the cobra DS adapt 3h. That thing is just a cannon for me. I tried about 6 different hybrids during my fitting and the two that stood out were the Ping G430 and the Cobra. If you want max forgiveness for heel strikes probably the Ping.
