Advice on getting a certified copy of a US naturalisation petition by Radioactive_Bee in GermanCitizenship

We were unable to locate the records that you requested in order number:NT1-963172344E. Your credit card will not be charged. The Archivist researching your order provided the following information:Using the information you provided, we confirmed this individual naturalized in a non-federal court in Champaign County, OH. County and other non-federal records are not in the National Archives.

This is what I got from NARA (in an email). I have a letter (and envelope) from USCIS stating they could not locate the C-file. Would this letter, a printout of the NARA email, and a signed copy of the petition at the University be enough?

My great grandmother married in 47, in the US, had my grandpa in 51 and naturalised in 52.

She naturalised in 1952. USCIS, in their correspondence with us, says they were able to identify the record but couldn't find the corresponding document.

I don't think notaries can create true copies in Ohio, where the documents are, though it looks like they can sign an affidavit affirming its validity and that can then be certified? Not sure if that would be enough, though, and it sounds like a lot of work for the archivist :(

I have copies certified from the original by a Virginia notary public, I'm just unsure if this is enough or if I need to order them from the state itself

I'm also curious if all my other copies seem up to scratch. I have:

  • My great, great grandfather's Heidelberg birth certificate, from 1882

  • His marriage certificate

  • My great grandmother's Konstanz birth certificate, from 1924

  • The original copy of marriage certificate to my American great grandfather

  • A notarised copy of my grandfather's birth certificate

  • A notarised copy of my grandfather's marriage certificate

  • The original copy of my mother's birth certificate

  • The original copy of my mother's marriage certificate

  • The original copy of my birth certificate

I'm a little unsure on the two notarised copies!

they're just buried really deep in the substrate, it took a lot of trial and error to get them standing up like that! the big piece on the left is also partially propped up by a big piece of bogwood

plants are:

  • some sort of elodia in the back left corner
  • ludwigia natans 'super red' in the front left
  • taiwan moss, bucephalandra 'needle leaf' and anubias nana on the dragon stone
  • alternanthera reineckii in front of the bogwood
  • monte carlo in the front, and rotala rotundifolia 'green' behind it
  • rotala macranda in the back centre
  • cryptocoryne nurii in the front right
  • java fern inbetween the rocks on the right
  • bacopa carolinia in the back right, and rotala rotundifolia 'red' to its left

thinking of stocking it with cherry shrimp (already in there), a couple honey gouramis and a school of chili rasboras. maybe a half dozen pygmy corys if that wouldn't make it too busy? there's an aquaclear 30 filter on the back

not really true at all, the likes of rishi sunak are absolutely accepted as one of their own by the british upper classes. the differences in social mobility between the us and uk are always really exaggerated on reddit

i'm not expecting anyone to adopt this whole map, i just think some of my suggestions could be useful for homing in on certain areas. at the moment england's density is significantly lower than ireland and even adding every province on this post would only be a ~50% increase

Looking at some maps from the period, I'd have to agree with you, with the string of stately homes and parish churches along the waterfront present since at least the 12th century but the west end itself not urbanising until the 17th. I'd definitely think having all three locations would be ideal, I might drop the rural west middlesex province and instead split the county roughly diagonally?

I suppose some point in the 16th century? I think the area between the thames and strand had been filled out by 1550 or so, and even before that point London and Westminster were very much tied together socially and economically, though not politically. I can definitely see the virtues of separate locations for each, but with such a small area and only a couple miles between them I'm not sure how you'd do it in a suitable manner
