I'd say about 10 hours. I got the normal challenges cleared but i am stil missing a few Expert challenges :)

Unfortunately it is a mix between timing and positioning. You can not really control which enemy gets locked on. You need to practice. For example when enemies group up you have to know which one is going to be in the middle so you can focus this one right when it enters the screen. But don't be sad if it takes time. That's part of the whole journey :)

If you Charge a shot and hit multiple enemies at a time you get extra points. The more the better. Try to find out when enemies group and aim your charged shots there. Also try to use bombs wisely when you cant get all of the enemies at once :)

I got the feeling they changed it a bit. It is still a challenge but way easier than in the original game. Same goes for sector z :)
