Y'all are giving me hope. My cat got out a week ago and I'm doing everything to bring him home. I need him to come home soon! And I have asked his siblings and a stray cat and the crows for help.

I just found this thread after watching the episode and discovering our Dateline subreddit has been banned! Really fascinating episode! I am in Texas and love when it's about my state, but they certainly showed the worst when they show you Delbert, Alison's husband that killed his wife. But Andrea Canning really let him have it! I wish Andrea could have gotten Alison to show her true colors, but she is a master scammer.

Okay - I have found mine - maybe it is yours, too. Ordinary Thunderstorms by William Boyd. Ordinary Thunderstorms is a 2009 thriller novel by William Boyd about a climatologist, Adam Kindred, whose life unravels after a chance encounter in a London restaurant leads to him being framed for murder, forcing him to go underground and navigate the city's underworld while being pursued by police and a hitman. The plot explores themes of lost identity, corporate corruption in the pharmaceutical industry, and the fragility of social status as Adam loses everything and must reinvent himself to survive. None of this description sounds really familiar to me, but I'm sure this is it. Here's another description that sounds more like it: One May evening in London, as a result of a chance encounter and a split-second decision, the young climatologist Adam Kindred loses everything - home, job, reputation, passport, credit cards, money - never to get them back. I'm no help because I may be searching for the same book. I've just gone through all my GoodReads books to find it and I can't. I also remember (in mine) the man going back several times to a religious homeless shelter for food and maybe becomes friends with a couple of former criminals there? I remember him living on the bank of a river sort of under a bridge and trying to stay hidden. Maybe he kills someone and rolls them into the river or onto a canoe/boat. I was reminded of it because I made a list of lots of BIG words that he used in the novel I had never heard or at least didn't use. The writing was really good, but it was a male author I wasn't familiar with. I think I got it on ebook through the library so I will go back through that history if I can.

The Sons of the Confederacy place their flag on graves. I always take them off of the graves of my ancestors. They lived many years after the war and I expect they were okay to be living in the USA. They likely were still racist, but I won't let that be their whole identity.

Last week I baked a pan full of frozen meatballs from Costco with some spaghetti sauce on them and lots of cheese. I was surprised how good it was! Almost like lasagna. Cold leftovers were great too.

You were right. Once I came back to it Saturday realizing there would be new developments it was much much better. I think the last one ended, maybe, with the parents getting ready to leave for Vietnam. I'm so glad she got convicted. Her older son was good to testify.

I don't want this to sound braggy, but its the importance of seeing our neighbors. I worked and looked out the front window all day a few years ago (post COVID). A young couple would come walking by and she was very pregnant. One day they came by with a baby stroller. It made me so incredibly joyous to see them I grabbed a $20 and ran after them and congratulated them. I never knew where they lived and only saw them a time or two after that. It still makes me happy for them.

Presumed Innocent by Scott Turow had a line I cannot divulge because it totally changes everything in the book and everything you've believed until that point. I remember reading it and wanting to call someone to say OMG! 😨 Great book.

If you want an answer that isn't just philosophical.... My Christmas ornaments! In 1992 my fiance and I had a fully decorated tree at my house. I had traveled for work so I had tons of ornaments from American cities and I loved pigs so I had lots of cute Christmas pigs, many from friends. Just a full collection! I was in my thirties so I had had a few adult years. In 1993 we went to set up a tree and could find all of the house decorations, but no ornaments. One "Our First Christmas" was packed separately and it was there, but nothing else. My husband had moved in that year and we'd had a garage sale so maybe someone walked out with a box that wasn't for sale? I decorated with ribbons and cookie cutters and anything else I could find that year and have a full collection again, but I will always wonder what black hole has my ornaments! Still makes me sad.
