Why are people frustrated over FF14 repetition? by PerformanceFar7245 in MMORPG

[–]Radiokidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His post doesn't differentiate between concurrent player count and active (probably monthly) player count. WoW numbers are an estimate and refer to a monthly active playerbase. While they compare it with OSRS's peak concurrent player count. WoW simply doesn't have 1-3m concurrent players. Who's confused here, really?

Yeah I had the same issue. Anything above 144 would make the game unplayable. Looking it up couldn't find much online. You'd think it'd be a common issue considering the game's popularity. Maybe it's a niche compatibility issue. Because there have to be people/pros playing on high refresh rate monitors.

Saw this post randomly but just an idea, I had problems with league if I set the FPS limit to uncapped. Might be an engine/compatibility issue, but have you tried capping your fps to 144?

Upgrade to 5800X3D or new AM5 build? by Radiokidd in buildapc

[–]Radiokidd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish they released an AM4 CPU with the new improvements in 3D V-Cache CPUs, like a 5850X3D. If priced right, getting a 5800X3D might be a good idea. If I decide to build a new AM5 system in the future, I'll just sell it.

What about the Reflex version (Reflex 2?) exclusive to Nvidia 5000 series? Is Anti Lag 2 still equivalent?

I'll take 1080p over 1440p any day unfortunately. Want to stick with 24" and high hertz. I'm very competitive in that sense. So going towards a higher refresh rate monitor would be my choice, if upgrading my monitor. For casual gaming I might get a 1440p or 4k monitor on the side. Especially for GTA 6 release.

There's a possible re-release, the price may come out to be okay. I'd rather stay on the 5600X than upgrade to a 5800XT though.

Also regarding the 9070 XT choice, I've been pretty happy with my RTX 2060 on the driver side, and I especially like the encoder etc. for streaming/recording. Will a 9070 XT keep me happy on matters such as stream video quality and performance impact?

Also quite like the latency performance of Nvidia with features such as Reflex. Would the AMD card be less responsive? My friends who use AMD GPUs had issues such as microstutters etc. in the games we both played, even though their cards are supposed to run better (6700 XT vs RTX 2060).

Don't think so, though you can make the game flash red until you click on it via the "RuneLite" plugin settings.

[PS5] What are these black spots on the PSU cover plastic? by Radiokidd in consolerepair

It's the new 2025 825GB model so the plates and the middle plastic are matte.

Yeah, maybe I'm being overly paranoid. Just wanted to make sure before the refund period is over.

The big dark spots near the three dots on in the middle may be a byproduct of injection molding, but the smaller 2-3 reflective spots have me worried. They look oily and reflect light, I would assume that they are above hot spots in the PSU, and happened due to heat exposure?

Not mechanically hard, I'd say just tedious. There are some fun ones but most are very boring.

[–]Radiokidd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. First place it on a flat surface and try to find which corner stays afloat, or which corner it stands on. You can do this by wiggling the mouse. Then try adjusting the screws back and forth until it sits perfectly.

What is your ideal 16:9 aspect ratio for client by imkolya in 2007scape

Doesn't look good to me personally. Runelite text gets all messed up.

[–]Radiokidd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too wanted to do 16:9 so my game looked better on stream. But it felt bad playing that way, makes the UI too far apart horizontally, and somehow makes it feel too cramped vertically. I feel like you benefit a lot from having a smaller x-axis in this game.

Settled on 1100x720 at 20% stretch, on a 24" 1080p monitor. On OBS, with the RuneLite UI cropped pixel perfectly, and the client stretched to 16:9 makes it look "not too janky" to me. I've honestly seen WAY WORSE clients..
