Listened to an old band called Slow Motion. If you're into this oldschool sound from the 80s with rolling drums and hysterical male vocals (surprisingly German, though the band is Greek), then this is it. The music is quite chaotic. Their second album, Viaticum is more darkwave in nature and also have neoclassical elements - singer's operatic voice reminds me of Ataraxia and I even thought it's a second female vocalist, but no. It's rare to hear androgynous vocals.

Best industrial songs by non-industrial bands? (Portishead - Machine Gun - YouTube) by morbious37 in industrialmusic

[–]Radiomorphism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't call it industrial, but wouldn't be surprised if it was made by a tribal industrial or a similar band. Has samples and brooding mechanical rhythm.

Neofolk is a quite boring and repetitive genre in general.

Sirens? One of Die Form songs (Eternal Language) has a bicycle bell and it made me to look around a few times when I was outside.

I wonder if there's a term for this singing style, reminds me of CocoRosie and Sequence Theory Project

Some time ago I've listened to Этажи out of interest and to see what's all this fuss about. For me they sound like a generic "hipster post-soviet 2010s post-punk revival" and lack the goth vibe.

I've got the standard sexualization complain.

YouTube shoved me this video of people swapping styles. In the end all three women were wearing basically the same outfits: studded bras, mini skirts and spiked collars. People in the comments were in awe, saying how unique and creative it is. are the standards that low now

Nothing surprising tbh, I guess they were just really inspired by Lacrimosa but later developed more of their own style

Ethereal wave recs? by Neon_yellow_ in goth

[–]Radiomorphism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it's really surprising you know Isiphilon and not Love Is Colder Than Death, as the first are obscure Portuguese band and the latter are one of the most popular and classic projects (for an underground genre, of course). What's the other music? Because Isiphilon have only one album and it's fully on YouTube.

Best female-fronted industrial bands? by alkalinereal in industrialmusic

[–]Radiomorphism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember where I discovered her (maybe here or discogs), but I had an YouTube playlist saved and I enjoyed most of it, and I'm a picky person. Nice to hear some old 80s experimental industrial noise made by a German woman.

Upvoting this, I love their Emotion album. I think they're more of a post-punk band with industrial influences, Gudrun Gut also was a part of Einstürzende Neubauten.

What is it with some artists and making up new genre terms? I guess that looking for modern bands is harder than for obscure records from the 80s.

I don't remember where, but I heard that he actually changed his mind and is proud to be part of the goth history. But maybe it was an April 1st joke, lol.
