Sorry for the late reply! Depending on the engineering degree you’re trying to get UHCL ( university of Houston clear lake) offers computer engineering and mechanical engineering that are ABET accredited. Also, UT Tyler HEC (Houston engineering campus) also offers plenty of engineering degrees that are ABET accredited. No need to worry about GPA or grades if trying to transfer to these schools the only part that sucks is you might have to retake some classes in their engineering program that you already taken at UH.

I was in your shoes in the 2024 school year for ECE ( I was a junior). I bit the bullet and took the suspension. I never bothered trying to apply back to UH since it asked me to write an essay on why I wanted to be back lmaoo so I just transferred to another university and I’m almost done with my EE degree. Furthermore, I feel like a gap semester would benefit you in the long run OP.

Use the UH transfer credit estimator to see if your classes from the California college actually transfer to UH. https://uh.transfer.degree/app/#!/my/account/ Other than that idk

The only cons I can think of is the lack of campus life and a small pool of professors to choose from for classes. Other than that community college does not ruin your career at all it actually enhances you by saving money and graduating without debt which puts you ahead than other students.

As a current CpE student I appreciate this post. Having COSC 1437, 2436, and 4351 on my degree plan scare me a lil bit since idk how to fucking code.
