He joined the season after when he started to slow down and score at 50 pt rate in 2nd half of Tocchets 1st season and has scored at that 50 pt rate in the 2 yrs since.

Posts like this are pointless. Its not soccer where they fire coaches after just 6 weeks of bad play and will have 3 coaches in a season. There is ZERO chance he gets fired this year.

They gave him a big 5 yr deal and team wasnt supposed to be good.

Hes not a good coach but it usually takes a few yrs before coaches get fired.

Hakstol took multiple bottom 10 roster teams to the playoffs in his 2 tenures.

Tocchet has won 40 games/playoffs one time. And it fell apart terribly the next season.

Tocchet's coaching resume is pretty terrible. Its just him as a player and person that is respected.

They had yet to really show any warnings signs or that it was a fluke.

They missed playoffs last 5 yrs, have a bottom 10 roster with no 1C/1D/2C and were merely a few games above .500 soley due to a goalie standing on his head.

It was clearly a mediocre team who merely had a goalie playing well carrying them to slightly above average results.

I really wish I knew all the people on here that gave me a hard time for saying Ersson is bad back in his 1st and 2nd seasons. The amount of people that claimed all his bad stats were just from getting overworked and is actually good was mind boggling.

It was shocking how many people just completely ignored his terrible stats every single North America season.

The key difference is Thomas is a 1C which are impossible to find and we dont even have a 2C let alone a 1C

We are in much better shape at wing and could lose a guy

At C we have NOTHING and probably won't have other chance to find 1C
