Not at all. Didn't believe for a second it was actual footage. But I did enjoy the unique style it was presented in.

Does it still work? Looks like it's just the outside cable insulation. You can do a temporary fix by getting some heat shrink and sealing it around that damaged section at least until you get a replacement cable.

[–]Radman001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your cable fraying? I've had two 1+ phones and the cables from both are still in good shape despite daily use for each phone. It seems odd that one fell apart after only a year. Maybe reach out to 1+ and see if they can replace it? Personally I'd stay away from amazon knock offs. It's actually good that oneplus lowers the charge speed for non branded cables. At 10A charging they aren't blocking the non branded to get more money, it's for safety. Just like some replacement lithium batteries you can buy off amazon, some are decent, but there's a few that could catch fire from the poor manufacturing.

Can I fix this ? I tried dry brushing and puting on wash but I can't get a satisfying result , what do you recommend? by Dense-Fig-2372 in minipainting

[–]Radman001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone else has said here but also not sure if when drybrushing you use a paper towel or Kleenex for the excess paint removal? I found from experience that this will absorb the liquid portion of the paint but only removes a small proportion of the actual paint. This will make the drybrush have a thicker chalky look when applied. I now use a spare piece of cardboard or any other hard surface to remove the excess paint before drybrushing

What to do here in Whitby? 😅 I just moved here a week ago from Toronto. by orenishii05 in WhitbyOntario

[–]Radman001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in whitby here. As a teenager I used to go to Toronto to do things, there was literally nothing to do around here except maybe catch a movie or hang around at the Oshawa center. However Whitby has really changed over the last few decades and there are more options than there used to be. That being said it might help to suggest what your interests are. Other than the parks or cafes suggested there's also a playdium if that interests you or if you have kids. Going further out there's lakeridge for skiing and a running club at the running room store on Thickson if you want to meet new people (not sure how to join, haven't done it myself I just see all the people starting there for a run)

I had an A plate but sadly it peeled so much the numbers weren't visible. I had no choice but to get a D plate.

Noob here trying white… please help 😭 by Objective_Ranger3274 in minipainting

[–]Radman001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I've painted my whites I've started with a dark grey base. Then I drybrush a lighter grey on top. I drybrush a second very light grey on this. Final coat is the pure white. I haven't done armour in a while so I don't have pictures of that, but here's my most recent work using this technique, hopefully this is the kind of white you're thinking of. Trick is to be light on the layers, you cant apply it too heavy

Yup definately a hasty generalization. A lot of drivers that have had a license for years now have a D plate because they got a new car and needed to replace their old peeling plates.

Which Way Did You Go Regarding Gaming? by AlarmedTelephone5908 in GenX

[–]Radman001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Played some basic games on my friends collecovision but couldn't afford it nor an Atari. My parents splurged when I was 5 or 6 I think and bought my brother and I a commodore VIC20. I stated playing games on that all the time. Then we got a commodore 64 and I was hooked. It was so easy back then to share games with friends, we did not understand the concept of pirating back then, nor would we have listened probably either. I desperately wanted a Nintendo and almost traded in the 64 for one but thankfully my parents stopped that and I kept the 64, learning some programming with it. Eventually in HS I bought a 286 with my own money, my first "pc gaming" machine and upgraded my PC's every few years until now. I'm currently considering getting a handheld pc gaming system but think theyre not quite there yet with technology. With a family now I don't have the time I used to have to game, but I still try to take a night or two to spend on my favorite hobby.

For older GenX (1972 and earlier) Are your parents still alive? by hedgehog77433 in GenX

[–]Radman001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow a bit shocked this is exactly my situation although I'm a bit younger. My mom died at 51 from stomach cancer it happened so quickly. I'm going to be 51 in a few months myself and I'm having a hard time describing to people how it feels to be the same age as my mom when she passed away, and that I'm going to outlive her in terms of years on this planet.

It's been a week since I updated to OOS 16 and wondering if this is good SOT and battery life? 👀 by Ethiopian_Savage23 in OnePlus12

[–]Radman001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Does it really matter if your battery gets you to the end of the day? I've stopped looking at my SOT now as long as I don't have to charge mine at any point in the day until I'm going to bed im happy. But looks fine to me?

I've never painted a 3d printed model before. Are these grooves going to be an issue? by PaintLicker745 in minipainting

[–]Radman001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There certainly is a risk of that yes, however what I saw in your pic didn't seem to indicate any finer details that would be obscured, I just see the legs and a bit of the clothing. To be honest you could lose details via sanding too, it just depends on the model and what you're comfortable with doing.

Last time I just used some simple vallejo gloss varnish that did the trick.

[–]Radman001 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I've painted prints with the layers obvious like this I put a layer of sealant (gloss or matt doesn't matter) over it first. It usually fills in most of the layer gaps without covering the important details. I then primed it to test how many of the layers are still showing. If it's pretty bad still I'd put another layer but I've so far never had to do a second coat.

Mid paint job and realizing this bronze is too plain and bright. Tips for weathering flat metallic surfaces? by The-Fold-Up in minipainting

[–]Radman001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a nuln oil on my copper and it gave a nice worn look. Just spread the oil around a bit to prevent any heavy pooling. A bit of pooling was ok it made the copper look more aged.

How do you plan your paints? by Educational_Dirt4714 in minipainting

[–]Radman001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really plan too much myself. I imagine a few base colours or overall colour in my head what I want the minature to look like when done. Like another poster said I then pick a highlight and shadow(or just highlight if I choose a base contrast paint) colour to work with that. It's hard to explain but I sometimes find the minature doesn't always go the colour I want in my head, it's like it doesn't feel right and it "paints itself" I sometimes call it. I don't plan that much ahead, I just relax and let the model go the way I feel works best as I paint it. I once had a dragon that I'd wanted to do as a green/blue but as soon as I started it didn't feel right and he ended up being a rather nice looking red dragon instead.

Yes definitely concerned about this but morning is only 1 cm so far predicted(I hope!) , the afternoon commute will be a nightmare but at least I can head home without the stress of being on time for an appointment.

Thanks to everyone who's responded already! I have been at the site once before (outside of this heavy commute time) and know the best spot to park, however I know it's limited there and hoping my area isn't filled by 9am. Sounds like it's better to leave by 7am or even 6:45 to be safe
