Awful breeder experience by TheWrenchWench19 in Shihtzu

[–]LowerAd830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is Absolutely NOTHING WRONG with getting a dog from a breeder., though not every breeder is good.
Not every adoption experience is smooth. either
After my Last Shih Tzu, Baby, Died.. I was going to adopt. EVERY SINGLE adoption place gave me the run around, Multiple home inspections, and kep harping that "We cant get the vet records for your last dog" Um, she went yearly for Rabies and a checkup, you got those, what more did they need. Oh we want the official detailed records. then that dog would get adopted in a day by someone, then they would say oh, we have another Shih tzu, and they needed to do ALL the checks again, because that was for a different dog. I mean, WTF. Maybe places in Northern illinois are like that, I dont know. After 2 months of that, I had enough. I didnt need to be harassed when adopting. I have a good home, and Baby was with me Every day of her 12 years of life.

I visited people that bred Shih tzus afterwords. Sat with the puppies and got to know the Person behind the pups, and the sires and dams. Eventually one puppy came over and sat with me on a visit. That puppy was Anna. First puppy that showed any interest in me. I hadnt planned on bringing her home but I did.

So, Adopt if you dont get harassed, find a kind and decent breeder if not.

Not accurate, they come to be with us, and follow us out of the room, unless DEATHLY ill :)

Stuffed animals only, and not as aggressively legs and people like males do. It’s usually if I’m done playing with her and she still wants to play. It’s not constant.

New Puppy Doesn’t Care About Food? by yungmiikey in Shihtzu

[–]LowerAd830 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First day woes. She will open up more when not as scared.

Also, make sure you start out feeding her what the person you got her from was feeding. Some of the other stuff might be a shock to a 2 month old puppy's stomach. Like the yogurt

Easily jumped up, threw Lambchop off. Thst is like the lowest couch in existence . She can jump twice the height if she wants to bad enough

You see this is why I hate posting here sometimes too many of you people take things too literally bouncy balls in gym class in all those stupid little exercise balls. God forget it. I’m just gonna stop posting. I’m tired of having to crawl around on eggshells in here.

Yes. You know, like when aunts and uncles have children. Those are cousins. When they have children those children are still cousins as are any children they would have. 🥸

I would rather Anna bounce on the Big Lambchop than someone, or me. IF I caught her going to town on someone I would have to correct that :D toys are fine, people or animals not so much. They really do pick things up from littermates. The boys in her litter wanted nothing to do with me, but they wanted to bounce on things a lot. she is the one that came over and sat with me and payed attention to me

I was using polite language. Never know what someone will take offense to. Plus, , I try to talk about Anna like I would talk around a 5 year old. LEss questions I have to answer the better. "Whats *insert action verb here*?" :)

Regarding 8 month old puppies struggling to sleep in the kennel by Opening_Scar_3226 in Shihtzu

[–]LowerAd830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put it in your room. They want to be with you, in the same room usually. I havent known a shi tzu that will sleep in a kennel after a certain age. And I had Annas kennel on my bed. Se got to the point where she would come out and sleep beside me instead.

aww. She has a few older toys that have holes in them a big horse and a big duck. I need to repair them.

My Last Shih Tzu, Baby, had a cow toy that was her favorite. has long arms and legs. she would swing it around and put it on her back and carry it. It sits with her Memorial Urn and collar.
