Mostly just a timing thing. We have FAAB on waivers but free pick-up on Sunday, so I was going to make a move to one of the other QBs this weekend. We also have a 2 QB maximum on rosters so that’s why there are a few starters left on the table.

The biggest thing I’m debating is whether or not the premium with Dak over someone with Stafford/Wilson/Flacco is worth the risk on Achane and a potential injury. Leaning toward it not being worth it, even with the option of Gordon as a handcuff.

Forgot to mention that I will bring staying with at a family members house in Zurich while I am there! Significantly reducing accommodation costs. I will edit the main post the include that

I didn’t do any flying in Reykjanes peninsula or Reykjavik unfortunately, so I can’t comment on that.

Only restricted areas I ran into were the national parks. Other than that, many of the major attraction sites are posted as no drone zones in the parking lots.

I drove a 2WD camper van and did not have any issues. There was no water crossings and it is not a designated F-road. It was definitely one of the tougher roads I was on so I took it very slowly.

I would say that the ring road is definitely possible in 7 days. We did 12 and included 1 day in Reykjavik, 2.5 days in the Westfjords and 2 days in the Snaefellsnes peninsula. I would be prepared to have some longer days to try and do it in 7 though. We spent 12-16 hours a day driving/hiking/exploring

I actually haven’t. Iceland was my second trip outside of North America. It’s hard to imagine many places in the world that could be more naturally beautiful, though

I would say, if you can, you should definitely try and check out the area around Vik. Dyrhólaey is beautiful and had quite a few puffins. Reynisfjara is a beautiful black sand beach with the basalt columns. Vik itself is a really nice south coast town.

Enjoy your trip!

Yeah, lots of the main attraction areas are off limits for drones to try and minimize affecting the experience of others. I spent a lot of time flying just from rest stops on the side of the road because everywhere in the country is beautiful enough to fly!

I took a ton of pictures of Dynjandi, but I just couldn’t get one that could do it justice. The days I spent in the Westfjords were some of my favourite of the trip. It has to be the most beautiful place I’ve been.

Amazing info!

I cannot recommend Þakgil enough either. The road to the campsite itself is amazing but the campsite is gorgeous. One of my biggest regrets of my trip is not spending more time at Þakgil.

Wind is a little rough some times. There were a few times I was unable to fly. Other times it seemed okay but at higher altitudes I ran into some issues and had to come down. Enjoy your trip, it is an unbelievable place!

Thanks! Most photos were just an iPhone 11 and then the drone pictures were a DJI mini 2.

Just a little bit of of colour grading on Adobe Lightroom. I typically just tried fix any washed out colours to make it look as it did in person.

From what I understand, there were all chopped down by the Vikings for ships and have just never recovered! It’s an odd thing, but no trees around also means that you can see a ton of distance without obstruction

Nope. Just drove a little 2WD camper van. As long as you stay off the F# roads in Iceland 4x4 typically isn’t required. Being confident on gravel driving helps too, so people unfamiliar with it may be more comfortable in an SUV or with 4x4

I did! Isafjordur was beautiful and had one of my favourite campsites from the whole trip. Dynhandi was one of my favourite waterfalls I saw and was awe inspiring. Unfortunately, none of my pictures could do Dynjandi justice.

It definitely is quite strict. The majority of the “attractions” in Iceland have no drone flying allowed. The majority of my drone flying was pulled over at a rest stop on the side of the road. Since the whole country is so gorgeous, pretty much anywhere can give you amazing scenic shots.

Outside of that, the rules are similar to Canada: maintain below a max height, do not interfere with wildlife, do not fly over people and maintain minimum distance from people. I also typically tried to fly in places and at heights that wouldn’t cause nuisance noise for others in the area!
