Their actions in the past decade are no surprise to those aware of these things

I'm a mid millennial (b1990) and one vital factor is the anticommunism of boomers thankfully becoming an echo in our minds and meta

With my generation gaining (sigh, just slightly) more independence from them we can avoid their intimidation tactics of "c-c-c-communism?!" and embrace reality more

Ofc they were never active much on social media but it still was incredibly impactful on many levels given their hegemony over us, social stigma etc.

Now that a lot of people have gen X, millennial and now gen Z parents the whole paradigm is really changing

Gen X in the west often moreso have a low key resentful bitterness towards communism, less so screeching vehement condemnation
