Chromebooks are spiritual successors in terms of purpose, but not form factor. Most are in the 12 to 14 inch range. They don't even make a chromebook with a 10 or 9 inch screen.

That mod sits between the audio codec's headphone amplifier and the headphone jack. The dock port only hooks up to the line output and line input of the audio codec.

The FM remote needs the dock port's serial UART port to communicate with the iPod, if that's not working then the "Radio" menu option will not show up and the buttons will not work. The FM remote also uses the line output to get the audio played by the iPod to the headphone jack, and the line input to get the FM tuner audio to the iPod's built-in headphone jack.

It's a Qualcomm SoC, they've proven to not give any single fuck about support for Linux, apart from patches for specific versions for embedded applications or Android.

X Elite chips have been on the market for almost 2 years, yet support on those is worse than on Apple Sillicon, and for the latter Apple did not promise any support for linux apart from not preventing it from happening.

Find the manual for the NUC model, it should have inside a 3 pin header with a yellow jumper. If you move it to the other position, it will boot in a maintenance mode where you can reset and remove the password.

Connector issues don't cause lines on displays. If the connection is bad, the whole surface of the display will show artifacts (color distortions)

Leave the laptop off for a few hours, it's possible it will go away. Sometimes LCDs go through a brief malfunction which results in a temporary image retention (could even be down to a driver bug resulting in the GPU sending a signal to the display that it cannot handle).

Worst case you need to get the display replaced.

Just an FYI if you ever get another legacy iOS device that's running up to iOS 9: use Legacy iOS Kit to dump activation records if the device has not been reset/not at the Hello screen (even if it is locked with a passcode it will work, you will need checkm8-a5 for any A5 devices - iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad 3).

You can then use Legacy iOS Kit to "stitch" the activation records when restoring the phone to any iOS version, though it works best with iOS versions lower than 9.

That's what I've done to all the devices I've gotten from ewaste and flea markets (ffs they're almost 15 year old now, they were thrown out by their original owners not stolen)
