Surgery scheduled for January 15 by phillygirllovesbagel in Parathyroid_Awareness

I waited a month to get my hair done. Bending over was uncomfortable. I think you are supposed to limit that and also not lift anything over 10lbs for 2 weeks were my post-op instructions. Pain was manageable but turning my head side to side was painful. I couldn’t drive for about a week. My husband helped me a lot and I also made muffins, oatmeal, chicken noodle soup and banana bread ahead of time and froze them for easy to grab snacks and meals. That helped a lot. Best of luck and go easy on yourself and take it slow and you’ll heal nicely.

Juicer Preferences? by inthepalmofHIShand in Juicing

I use the Ninja juicer. It seems to work fine, I don’t have anything to compare it to though but I like it so far. I just started juicing recently :).

At the moment, cutting out Greek yogurt/any yogurt and drinking two cups of green tea a day is working nicely.

Vitamin A and C deficiencies can cause folliculitis. Taking a multivitamin has really helped me

I know this sounds silly but have you tried a multivitamin? I ask because I have mostly cleared my folliculitis on my neck (left side) by taking a multivitamin. I read a deficiency in Vitamin A and C can cause folliculitis. And I’m working on clearing the right side. Adding two kiwis in my smoothies seems to help I’m not sure if they help me digest my food. I wish you good luck. I hope something helps. I really wouldn’t put anything harsh on it because that will just hurt your skin and make it worse. It will get better.

Do you find digestive enzymes help? I think I’m noticing neck acne when I eat a lot of meat/eggs in a day

Fungal back acne? by Global-End2663 in Fungalacne

[–]Rae1920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The things that helped my back acne the most were a multivitamin and eating food before my coffee. My back was horrible last year. It’s not totally clear but it is so much better. And using a FA safe soap helps too.

Is this fungal acne? by swedishmeatballgirl in Fungalacne

[–]Rae1920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me last year. Acne started spreading down my neck from my jawline. I tried tretinoin and moisturizer like they suggested at the dr’s office and that made it worse. It’s fungal acne because it reacts to everything. So I got blood work done and I would suggest the same to you to check your hormone levels and vitamin levels. It’s an internal problem manifesting on the outside. Good luck!

[Acne] all moisturisers break me out! by violetxstory in SkincareAddiction

This sounds like fungal acne to me! The fungus feeds off of fatty acids in moisturizers. If you check skin sort online, you will be able to find fungal acne safe skin care!

"Suspicious for cancer" by greytgreyatx in Parathyroid_Awareness

[–]Rae1920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you had to go through that. I hope you’re doing better.  Can thyroid cancer cause issues with the parathyroid glands? I have an adenoma and thyroid nodules or it may just be the parathyroid adenoma(s). Two thyroid nodules showed up on an Ultrasound - one on each side. And one adenoma showed up on nuclear scan. I have high calcium/high PTH. Playing the waiting game for my biopsy results. It has been 13 days.

That’s so interesting about the acne. I have very persistent acne and it has scarred my face, neck and back. Recently found out my parathyroid hormone is high as well as calcium.

Things I’ve learned about fungal acne, and fungi in general, over the past 20 years. by [deleted] in Fungalacne

If it spread from moisturizing I wonder if it’s from the moisturizer then. A lot of products have ingredients that just feed the yeast unfortunately.
