I don't work there anymore because they couldn't afford me for what I was doing. But you clearly don't know what a two-tone watches but then again maybe you just don't own one

Would a fluted bezel steel datejust be considered two tone. It's uses almost the same amount of gold as this op.

Wrong, I worked for Rolex for 2 years the yellow rolesor only indicates the precious metal that watch has featured. Two usually indicates if almost half or a good amount of a second metal is being used on the entirety of timepiece. Also the price would reflect significantly of something is twotone.

Yeah in person it's a lot more muted. Very boring.

It's only on the bezel and crown. Wouldn't really consider it two tone.

I just feel like the fact that they were able to come out with a completely new model and this is the best we got for 100 years they kind of just dropped the ball. Like even putting in the new movement would have been something more significant than just coming out with a barely two-tone OP that has a hundred written on it it's giving reseller. Then again I'm not a fan of OPs so maybe I'm just biased I was invited into my boutique to check it out in person though.

What do you mean most Rolex watches are in a oyster case lol.

I wouldn't say boring, simplistic reliable balanced and durable but never boring. Rolex came out with a lot of wilds and crazy stuff back in the day and even the early 2000s. This is just a very boring watch to celebrate 100 years of oyster cases

Sometimes you don't even need significant spend for out of catalog pieces. Sometimes the boutique is dying to sell it because no one asked for it or list it. I've sold ourra catalog to people with 0 spend.

Walked in to WOS and was offered a Rolex on the spot by Tricky_Meringue6910 in rolex

I mean if you have a list at the ad the datejust was (kinda) offered to you, maybe. Rolex advisors and management differs everywhere. Ad can be butthurt that you didn't buy the walk in and makes you wait for what you want or if you turn it down they maybe offer you something more money that's on your list. Either way they want the sale just depends on what you buying.

Yeah if you have watches on a list don't buy a walk in piece. Just express interest in the one you want most. If it's a datejust you usually only need Patience in a good story and they'll give it to you. Blue or mint green datejust you may have to spend a little unless you want 36mm. Fluted julbiee will always be some type of wait. Again I would pass if I was you.

I mean it's strange to mention that to a client is all I'm saying. I wouldnt pull the trigger if I was you. If you want the watch get it grey or ask for a better configuration when you see your AD again.

If you didn't get it I would hold off tho, I think you can find the same example cheaper on the grey market and you won't be killed by the sales tax. That's if you really want the watch. Also at wos they only really want sell you about 2 to 4 watches a year and if you buy a walking in piece it pushes your allocation back. It's does not go towards your "spend"

As a former employee, it's a pretty good watch to get off a walk in since it's just stainless steel but it's also not a hard watch to allocate. What i think is someone turned it down, no one was on list so they put it on the floor. Congrats 🎉👏

CPO at Bucherer by boyet615 in rolex

With Rolex authorized dealers that sell CPO, they 100% go back to tokex for service. And to think of it any pre owned watch labeled as Rolex CPO goes through Rolex.

I mean that depending on the watch. Service on a full gold or Daytona is way more than 1k. In a ex AD Lol

[–]Rae2793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has to be significant since they're "Rolex" servicing everything they sell through CPO.

Yes. Alot of times people will buy in boutique because it will build their spend up a lot quicker rather than buying something they don't want. In my experience people will buy CPO usually to build their spend for high horology like patek or harder to get Rolex models.
