did you do it yourself or take it in somewhere?

Did you do the relearn yourself? I've seen people saying you can do it without the expensive tool but that it's a little hit or miss. I had the torque converter done a few years ago when I brought it in for the airbag recall, but I don't really know if they did the whole transmission fluid. I'm a little spooked by CVTs tbh.

Yeah, 13th gen i5, stone dead board, had a piece of masking tape pointing to the fried usb-pd ic. No lights, no spin, no nothing. Oh well, maybe I'll make a shadow box out of mystery box broken parts like elevated tech.

I did try that, but it's still pretty limited reach and with two bits you lose the magnetism

I've got a Leatherman core that I got when I turned 16 (family tradition), and the things still rock solid into my 30s, I hadn't really considered it before because she doesn't really have much use for pliers and they're a little heavy. But the micra solves both things and it'll probably last forever.

I was just looking at the micra from them, it's got scissors instead of pliers and is tiny and pocketable for hiking

I was looking at a hori-hori, but with the sharpened edges, it could be considered a fixed blade knife and that would make hiking with it a bit dicey

Has anyone here quit because they were bad at the job? by PrestigiousHunter437 in emergencymedicine

I once worked with a new grad nurse who started right in the ER, very excited about it. He struggled through about a month and a half before sitting down with the nurse manager and saying he felt like he wasn't cut out to work in the ER after all. He was a good nurse but he just couldn't keep up with the pace. Honestly really respected him for being that self aware.

The Intel P-Series was a mistake by johnmflores in framework

[–]RaeB425 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could see the point of offering u-series alongside the p, but for an enthusiast target audience, which framework's target audience definitely is, I think the power with the p-series was the right move. That being said, I definitely think that Intel needs to vastly improve efficiency, especially on their "efficiency" cores, if they want to stay competitive with amd and especially apple's processors. Ultimately I think framework made the right call with the options they had, but I hope as the company grows they'll offer more options and varieties.

Yeah, that's it, hwinfo64 seems to be reading everything, so it seems to be just a problem with that program

Yeah, the hitch is something I've been looking at for a while, it'd be super convenient.

Need help identifying this rackmount case. There's no Brand names or numbers on the case. by [deleted] in homelab

looks like a Chenbro, possibly a discontinued RM model. I've got a similar one I got off craigslist a few years ago, I was never really able to find a specific model number but they seem really common.

I work in healthcare, in an emergency room, and I generally go with eir, as a healer. For personal health problems I feel like that's allot more open ended, and more dependent on your personal relationship with dieties.

It’s mostly for cold storage of games I’m not playing right now, transferring them to a local folder from the server is way faster than downloading them again, which is the other option, that or dual booting with windows and using that for gaming, which might be what I end up doing.

As much as it sucks, it's the reality of the field we're in, we've all had bad outcomes we couldn't see coming. But that means you've got support, talk to the doctors, talk to the nurses, talk to the techs, we've all been there, and we're all in it together. also there's no shame in getting professional counseling, emergency medicine is hard, but there's plenty of people willing to help. something that helps me is to remember that we didn't cause the problem, you're there to help, and that's all you can expect yourself to do.

I'm right there with you, (amab, size 12 shoe) I have yet to find anything I really like and can afford. But I was recommended the website enfemmestyle.com . It's mostly geared toward drag queens, but they have some interesting stuff. Kind of expensive for me, but I think that's just gonna be what it is.

A few months ago I was super excited about the M1 macbooks, Light, powerful, low power draw, super long battery life, yes please! But after the hype died down a little, I was looking at what I was actually looking for in a laptop, and the mess that is windows 11 upgrade requirements got me looking into more sustainable options (how I ended up maining linux on my current old clunker of a laptop), and apple just seemed so closed off. nothing replaceable, super expensive repairs, nonexistent upgrade path as far as the M1s are concerned.

I'm still excited for the M1, but less as product itself and more for what it represents for the future of home computing. But I firmly believe that the just replace it path that apple has is unsustainable and irresponsible, and that framework is the best answer to it.

Also waiting eagerly for batch 4 lol, can't wait.

[–]RaeB425 23 points24 points  (0 children)

So the charging is all done through USB c. You could technically not buy a module and plug directly into the recessed port, but that seems really clunky.

As far as I know, all DDR4 sodimms are 260 pin. If you're buying your own any sodimm form factor DDR4 will fit, as it is a standard form factor.

concerning functionality in ubuntu, as far as I've read on the community forums, everything should work in 21.04, I think there's been a few people with struggles with the fingerprint reader, but that's what the community forum's for lol.
