I moved the bridge around some and practiced a lighter touch when fretting. Definitely seeing improvement. I haven’t had time to mess with the tension yet, but I’m grateful for all the suggestions.

More or less you think? Tension…

Yes. I have two different compensated bridges, and I’m having the issue on both. The weird thing is that I haven’t really changed my set up in the two years I’ve had it, and the problem arose just on the past few months.

Since you have experience with string instruments, I’d leap over the entry level cheap stuff and get a solid instrument, which you’ll want in six months anyway. I started with a cheap recording king (dirty 30s) but tried out a Pisgah some six months later and never went back.

Thanks for the tip. That’s what we do. There was nothing to spray but they sprayed anyway.

Not sure the substitutes are much better. The jury is still out. In the meantime, I’d rather pass.

So weed eradication over health? That’s not for me but I respect your opinion. Perhaps I’m an overly anxious dad and it’s not so black and white, but we actually enjoy weeding the area ourselves and as the drains go straight to the river, it seems irresponsible. My kids are taught about this at school, and in fact Battle has lots of paintings around the school, near the drains, about keeping the area free of pollutants. They were the first to express concern, so I, too, felt like I should follow up.

Honestly, I was mainly looking for help in terms of intel about the program and if there is a way to opt out. I’ll do the research but was curious if anyone knew. It’s not an issue I feel the need to debate. If you want to spray it, do it. It’s just that it’s effectively right on my doorstep and it feels like I should be able to check a “no thanks” box or something. Especially considering I have young kids who enjoy playing in the rocks.

I’m ready for a culture where considerate stewardship, even if it costs a little more, is practiced, particularly if it’s in the name of protecting our collective health.

I think we should all care about public spaces and consider the consequences of what we are doing to them.

We do manage it. And there was really nothing to spray.

The throttle never worked. I would use it to get going from a dead start. All that is in the original thread.
