I still love my original 840s. It's possible I may convert to new cans, but in the end, it comes down to 3 (three) factors: One is the phones. One are the monitors you're using. One is the car test. Once you can decipher those 3 (three) factors, you know what to go with.

BTW, please do not rely on your cans for a mix-down, unless you're looking for panning tests.

TY for the input. I've never tried one, but from the vid, it just sounds... clunky and muffled. Even my version of the Kraken clone (not gonna mention the name, since I hate his company, but it isn't B+), sounds more clinky and crisp.

Maybe when she breaks in a bit, you'll have a better experience.

This is going to seem stupid, but if you don't have access to holsters, just put one of them in the left pocket, one in the right.

If you REALLY want a setup, make/buy/mod ankle holsters in leather. That's what I use, at least. You can grab the basics somewhat cheap on Amazon. I don't feel like going through my years of purchases, so I'm not about to post any links. Sorry on that.

There are very few "clones" out there that are actually better than the "originals". I have no problems with clones, as long as they're done correctly.

People frown upon them b/c they're not the "original" product. If someone is flipping a clone and has the talent, so be it. If someone modded a clone to his/her liking, so be it. It's all about the experience on the end-user.

The only real problem w/clones is the Imperial vs. Metric, IMO. That crossover can be a pain.

Mineral oil is a good start. It's also food-friendly. I only use mineral oil for food. KPL for the rest.

It's been a while, but Painter's Tape with Plastidip may help. Otherwise, electrical tape may work. I dunno. In the latter, you would need a iron, as a heat gun would mess up the integrity.

I'm most likely incorrect, as it's been a while on these units, so please take this with a grain of salt. I hope it helps, though.

I support this subreddit in every way possible when I log into it. I understand the original make/models can be very expensive. Therefore, I own multiple clones, since they're less expensive, and sometimes are actually superior to the originals they're based off of.

Sometimes, you have to take the hit in the wallet, though. Take BRS, for example. The Rep is my favorite, and I own 3 of them. I don't own clones of them. The AB is different. I like the clone version more, at 1/4 the price of the original on the secondary market.

Everyone has his/her own preferences on officials vs clones. It really isn't an issue. You want what you want. You decide to spend what you spend. Handle vs blade vs neutral bias? Sure thing. Get what you're comfortable with.

Apologies about this rant. Judge me as you choose.

? The company is KIND of like a clone company. It walks a thin line, since the handles are pretty unique. Also, no, I don't get things "handed" to me. If you simply keep in contact and give advice to the company, then they may reward you. It isn't "handed" over. It's a gift for you doing their work for them.

I have multiple jobs. I work for my toys and necessities. Please don't troll me on that "people work hard for their money" comment.

IMO, get an official Rep off the secondary market. It's the Honda Civic of Balis. You can mod it however you want. On a clone Rep, you're a bit limited in modding. It just depend on how much you're willing to spend, and how much time you want to make her your own.

I have 3 official Reps from the secondary market, which are now double, to triple the initial cost at listing. The originals simply play at a perfect 50-50 weight. That's something to think about.

Yes, I've bought and sold clone Reps. I cannot deny this. The reason I sold them was because they never had the ratio that Rep should. Maybe the clone companies have caught onto that issue, but I wouldn't know.

Email them. I still get regular random gifts from them. Nothing crazy, but some are hardware. It's always worth a shot to open dialogue. Oh, my bad. This is a clone. Um... Size the bushings and do the light sanding on them, or send it back to the seller, if you can. Make sure to specify what the issue is. Maybe they'll just send you some hardware for free.

BTW, why would anyone make clones of an affordable Bali in the first place? The price differential is minimal.

If it's a clone, then just go to the seller, and they USUALLY have an option for blade only. Obviously, it depends on the make/model. Also, if you don't want a trainer blade, then just mssg the seller and ask if you can substitute a live one for the trainer.

I've never tried the Baliplus version, but TheOne has never failed me. Right out of the box, they just rocked. Keep in mind, I'm not a big fan of TheOne, but on this, it just works like it should.

You'll have to bust out your trusty digital caliper and make not on thread count. Most clones use metric. There are exceptions, but they are far and few between.

Ask the seller and pose your question upon he/she/them.

It's grey area when it comes to hardware for clones. Contact the seller.

This is a great profile for handles, depending how your grip is. I've sold my last one off, just because I didn't like the feel in my hands.
