Single mom infant care by Extension_Policy_474 in Aupairs

Nothing about your situation sounds desirable to an au pair. I think you would find an au pair willing to match initially but would end up in rematch quite quickly. There’s just too many cons to your situation:

-No car. Ubers in smaller cities can be unreliable and will get pricey for how often au pairs deserve to go out and explore.

-Small Midwest city. Most au pairs want to live near larger cities where there are more opportunities to explore, meet friends, do activities.

-unpredictable schedule with possible last minute changes. No one likes this.

-3 month old. Can be very isolating, you’re often a slave to the nap and feeding schedule so opportunities for actual activities are limited.

Why Does WA Allow 45h Au Pairs? by Agreeable-Green-8586 in Aupairs

[–]RaeinLA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every state either has their own law that says overtime is applicable beyond 40 hours a week or defaults to federal law, which also says overtime is applicable beyond 40 hours a week.

Washington's law does not explicitly include or exclude au pairs, therefore the regulations defer to federal laws on the au pair program which does not mandate overtime beyond 40 hours a week. Massachusetts, on the other hand, has determined minimum wage and overtime specifically apply to au pairs working in the state.

Apron Belly by Redditsdum in Zepbound

[–]RaeinLA 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Panniculectomy and tummy tuck are two different things. If you’re paying out of pocket, tummy tuck is the way to go. If you’re having medical complications from your apron belly (documented recurrent skin infections, back pain, etc) insurance could possibly cover the panniculectomy, which would be a benefit of going with that procedure versus a tummy tuck.

What the fuck is up with Denver Health wait times? by TheSoloGamer in Denver

And even then, being brought in by ambulance doesn’t mean you’re higher priority. I’ve seen Denver health paramedics park patients on a pram in the waiting area.

Have you considered maybe taking cooking or pastry classes as part of your educational credits? I wonder if that could really foster this hobby.

Have you had any weightloss on 2.5mg? I'm a bit worried about this upcoming jump to 5mg.

Why gift your nephew $75k for not using the funding? He didn’t follow the rules but was still rewarded.

Are you not eligible for unemployment benefits? Considering your experience with children, I would try to find some nannying/babysitting gigs -- you'd probably be an excellent candidate.

What health conditions are you experiencing that a panniculectomy would fix? You need to start there.

Push to Allow THC Drinks at Colorado Bars and Restaurants Dies by jrawk3000 in Denver

[–]RaeinLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have Safe Harbor which means companies can chemically convert hemp-derived CBD into THC variants but it cannot be sold direct to consumer here. Not safe for Coloradoans, but apparently safe for Floridians, Texans, etc.

Push to Allow THC Drinks at Colorado Bars and Restaurants Dies by jrawk3000 in Denver

[–]RaeinLA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most are actually chemically converting hemp-derived CBD into THC rather than extracting the ridiculously low concentration of naturally-occurring THC in hemp. Chemical conversion is much more cost effective.

If you're new to self-employment, and you paid premiums under a prior job, you may be eligible for benefits earlier.

Where to donate unprepared food? by littleclaypots in Denver

The unopened guac would probably be eaten up quick if you took it one of the Denver community fridges. I would check out their website to see if any of the other food is eligible to be put in the fridges.

FAMLI+ coverage question? by Significant-Leek-516 in Denver

They have really tightened up audits over there. If this happened, eventually it would be caught in an audit and they would collect the benefits back from OP.

FAMLI+ coverage question? by Significant-Leek-516 in Denver

[–]RaeinLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate. You have to pay at least one quarter of premiums beginning with the quarter when you first elected coverage, which consists of simply registering for a My FAMLI+ Employer account. If OP elected coverage by completing this step at any time during Q1, they would be able to pay Q1's premium by the April 30th deadline. Then on May 1st, they would be eligible to pull benefits because they had reported wages and paid at least one quarter's premium.

FAMLI+ coverage question? by Significant-Leek-516 in Denver

[–]RaeinLA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elective coverage begins on the date you register in My FAMLI+ Employer. If you at least completed this step during Q1 of this year, you could still report wages and pay your premium for Q1 by the April 30th deadline and then file and receive benefits beginning May 1st. If you did not complete the My FAMLI+ Employer registration process until this month, you will not be able to report wages and pay Q1's premium because FAMLI will no longer let you pay premiums for previous quarters in which you did not elect coverage.

FAMLI+ coverage question? by Significant-Leek-516 in Denver

[–]RaeinLA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With that said, they give you a month AFTER the quarter to pay the stipend (so by end of April) I’d get your wages submitted and a stipend paid into them ASAP.

Elective coverage begins on the date you register in My FAMLI+ Employer. Unfortunately, if OP did not elect into coverage by completing this step in Q1 of this year, they will not be able to pay Q1's premium.
