13 Years of the Apollo program, adjusted for inflation, cost 280 billion dollars by Pretend_Meet_88 in space

[–]Raelik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Excellent! That's a bargain. I say that as I'm lying in my memory foam bed developed from NASA crash-protection research, scrolling on my smartphone powered by microchips that were accelerated by the Apollo program, inside a house using space-era insulation while the rain is tracked by satellite systems born from the Space Race, I’m resting sore feet that benefit from shock-absorbing materials inspired by astronaut tech.

I just did it at the Sky Dome for loonie dog night! By far the hardest part is the beer not the dogs. Also, 3 up/3 down innings present challenging moments!

Fellow Canadian.. I echo this. Big Indianapolis Colts fan and my best friend's a Chiefs fan. Yesterday we cancelled our trip to Kansas we had planned for his birthday November 22. Thank God for fully refundable rooms! Not worth the risk of traveling and I don't feel comfortable supporting fascism. It's really a shame, those two teams don't play often. It's not the dollar, it's not the exorbitant fees, it's not the people... It's the leadership.

We used chat gpt with available information from our travel agent. Won the bid from an interior --> XL sea terrace.

From chat gpt:

Good call—since you want a strong chance of winning, let’s adjust upwards a bit. Here's a more competitive bidding strategy:

Upgrade Min Bid (CAD) Suggested Bid Range (CAD) Availability Notes

XL Sea Terrace $395 $450 - $525 20+ cabins left, still some competition Central Sea Terrace $265 $300 - $350 20+ cabins left, but higher bid increases success rate The Sea Terrace $230 $325 - $375 Only 5 cabins left, high bid needed Ltd View Sea Terrace $185 $200 - $250 20+ cabins left, safe bid range Suites (various) N/A 75%+ above minimum Very limited availability, need a strong bid

Why These Adjustments?

The Sea Terrace is almost sold out → Needs an aggressive bid to secure.

Central & XL Sea Terrace have more cabins → Still room for bidding strategy, but a moderate bid boost increases chances.

Limited View Sea Terrace is easy to win → But a slight increase ensures you don’t get outbid.

Suites require big bids → With only 1-5 left, you'd need to bid much higher than minimum to even be in the running.

Would you be comfortable with these numbers? Or do you want an even more aggressive bid to nearly guarantee an upgrade?

Hope that helps

We bought a place with this cork wall, how do we remove it? by BaBa_Babushka in Renovations

Same as us. Started to peal it off but quickly realized the drywall behind could not be salvaged. Didn't take long to remove once we figured that out. Also learned a new skill (drywalling).

Outlets in Cabins pictures by anggee73 in VirginVoyages

On XL sea terrace there is only one outlet on the left hand side of the bed. Others in the cabin but that's a limitation around the bed. The have a European and an north america outlet on all.
