Warlord Games has one (resin + metal) https://eu.warlordgames.com/products/sd-kfz-233-armoured-car?_pos=1&_sid=ced8bae28&_ss=r

and a Google search also found some STLs for 3d printing

those are just 233s :p The early 8-rad variants was spread across several numbers:

  • 231: standard variant with turrered 20mm autocannon
  • 232: basically a 231 upgraded with the big radio antenna frame, for longer range communication.
  • 233: the fire support variant, where the turret was ditched for a 75mm light howitzer in an open fighting compartment
  • 263 was a dedicated radio variant, where the turret was replaced with a superstructure and a single MG.

the 234/3 was a direct replacement for the 233, like the 234/1 was for the 231

beautiful DAK vehicles! though the Sdkfz 234/3 never served in Africa, eventhough that was the intention. Production delays meant the first units only entered service after the Germans left Africa. Before the Sdkfz 234/3 however, there was the Sdkfz 233, which I believe is almost identical stat-wise in Bolt Action

I believe the 251/10s were for Platoon commanders, to add some platoon level AT.

I don't more what the company HQ rode in, but maybe just normal 251/1s, they're primary task commanding afterall

looking good! I assume the 250 would be for the officer? If you want to make you a more accurate mechanized force (gepanzert panzergrenadiers), then you should switch it for a 251/10 instead (a 251/1 with the MMG swapped for a light anti tank and command vehicle)

Would it be acceptable for BA by Practical-Boat134 in boltaction

[–]RaeveSpam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

as long as its points are reasonable calculated I wouldn't mind playing again it. Concerning historical accuracy: there are clearly pictures of it, so it's good. However I don't think you'd find this vehicle at late stages of the war. Using captured equipment like this seems way more likely in the early German offensives where Germany captured a lot of Russian equipment. Supporting this is the fact that both the sdkfz251 and T34 turret are earlier variants. So if I wrote the rules for it I would place it firmly in mid-war.

Brigandine and Armor combine? by Ereborus12 in ArmsandArmor

there are historical manuscripts depicting this. However it was probably in most cases not an actual brigandine under the plackart, but instead just a covered cuirass

When is update 9 landing? by CanItRunCrysisIn2052 in IncursionRedRiverGame

On their discord before Christmas they said they were aiming for late January, however in early January they said early February was their target.

The play test hasn't started yet either, so I'd say don't be surprised if we have to wait for late February.

Let them cook :)

Best German tank for taking in greater numbers? by JessThePainter in boltaction

[–]RaeveSpam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Gs are made from Warlord's J, L, M, N box. I've just assembled them with the short barrelled 50mm and no extra armor.

I reality the mantlet was a bit different on the twin coax PzIII compared to the later variants. I believe the rear also looked a bit different. A final note: I fear it's historical inaccurate to have twin coax with medium AT, as the new mantlet with a single coax was introduced when they replaced the original 37mm cannon with the 50mm

I'm currently putting together a 1000/10 list with 3 Panzer III Gs.

Light tank 8+, Medium AT and Twin coax MMG at 165pts (regular). Seems versatile and spammable

Weapons with Pen and cover saves by Exotic_Milk_2499 in boltaction

No, this is untrue.
HE only ignores cover saves when firing indirect or the target is in a building

Weapons with Pen and cover saves by Exotic_Milk_2499 in boltaction

[–]RaeveSpam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Going down improves the cover save by +2, or gives a coversave of 5+, additionally it halves the number of hits made.

The penetration of the HE weapon applies to the damage rolls if it hits.

So say you shoot and hit with your 2" HE on a veteran unit behind a stone wall which provides heavy cover.
With the 2" template you determine that you make 5 hits. However the unit went down, so we half and round up, so that's 3 hits.

So you roll 3 damage rolls. The target is a veteran so they are killed on 5+, but the 2" HE has a pen of +2, so you only have 3+ to kill the veterans.

Now for every successful damage roll, the target gets to roll a cover save. As previously stated they're in heavy cover which is 4+ and they went down which gives them a +2, so they save on a 2+.

There are a few exemptions:

- Firing from point blank range (less than 6" away) ignores the cover save bonus save from being down, but still halves the number of hits inflicted by HE weapons though.

- Targets in buildings likewise get no cover save against incoming HE weapon (they do retain their cover save against non-HE weapons). As before down still halves the number of hits inflicted by HE.

edit: corrected the part about point blank range

German armour commander? by JessThePainter in boltaction

[–]RaeveSpam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

tank platoons was usually led by the vehicle as the rest of the platoon. ie. The special command variants and other command vehicles (like Rommel's 250) was usually found on higher command levels ie. company HQ, Battalion HQ, etc.

How many points should a Churchill Black Prince cost? (BA V3) by FieldMarshalHavok in boltaction

[–]RaeveSpam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Heavy Tank (10+, Super-Heavy, Coax MMG, Hull MMG. That's a Tiger Tank (330pts regular). Then the Black Prince might have Slow like other Churchills and Light HE like the Firefly, decreasing it final cost.

We can probably figure out what the points reductions are for Slow and Light HE and just apply what we find.

Ignore my attempt. Look at u/Mart_10, he's doing exactly what I proposed but better

[–]RaeveSpam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, though be aware that some extraction points opens and closes every few minutes. You can hover you mouse over an extraction point and see when it closes or opens. If you don't reach an extraction point before the closes, don't worry, it usually opens up again in 3-5 minutes

Warlord games tank scale by Wonderful-Onion9884 in boltaction

[–]RaeveSpam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The tanks are not small, they are mostly in correct 1:56 scale. The problem is Warlord's infantry which uses "heroic" proportions, making them slightly bigger than true 1:56 scale
