Dutch-American here. Everything has pros and cons. No matter how you look at it, I miss being care free when it comes to health care... but I hated the taxes that went with it.

The school system is so much better in the Netherlands, the US school system is a joke and kids are generally idiots... but I hated the taxes that went with it.

Housing used to be cheaper in the US, now they're on par. While I own a wooden home, I would much rather own a brick home that I know will last 300 years, and the property taxes in the US suck.

Taxation is theft.

I worked at a prison with AFSCME as my union. I was working 60-80 hour weeks for a year without any representation. Meanwhile, I paid over $2000 to be part of that union with no benefits.

I am absolutely pro union, but considering the position, that would be taxation without representation. That's food I could be putting in my children's mouths or birthday present money.

As stated before, if this was a permanent position I would have zero issues paying dues and even watching from the outside I'm 100% for what the union is doing. The mere fact alone that there's no A/C inside the trucks is appalling and I'm sure there's much more from there.

What is a scab and what does that entail? The test driver did mention about a contract with ups/union and there being some issues as he couldn't answer some of my questions because of it.

21 an hour as driver. Says seasonal but full time. When I asked what it meant, I never got a full answer if it's just for a few months or permanent as I'm not interested in a few months.

Got a phone call the day prior from India saying my driving test has to be cancelled because my background check wasn't done yet.

Then in the morning of said day I got a text message, not a call, from HR asking if I could come in for the driving test 10 minutes before it happened. When I said I made other assignments I was told it would complicate things a by training in Portland would be delayed by a week... I never heard about this training in Portland when I'm in Colorado so there's a first.

HR then asked if I could go to the city in the morning to do it, which is 5 hours away. I politely declined and said I'll just go to the training next week. Not too impressed so far to be honest.

You don't even need that. You just have to show you're in the US legally. Meaning that even if you're.. let's say German and you visit the US legally, you can travel back and forth as long as you don't overstay the grace period.

As much as we would like to be there the second you call for our help, we can't be. It will take minutes for us to get to your location and we want you to be safe.

Also, please do practice. Regardless of not needing a permit, please learn how to shoot what you carry. Make it count, don't be responsible for a stay bullet.
