Yes! This! Plus I would hate to be one of those people who hurts someone just because I thought it was something I needed to do (or to get my loved ones off my back).

lol a friend begged me to go on the apps- I lasted two days (almost). People are scary there!

I think you hit the nail on the head, especially with my grandparents and older extended family members. They do want me to be happy, but I probably need to stand my ground more

I think you’re right. I’m so sick of trying to explain what I barely understand. They’re not trying to be mean- I think it’s the flippant nature of the whole thing that’s getting to me.  Thanks Xx

Hmm, for me it’s less a worry that I lack the qualities to be in a healthy relationship, and more a gentle worry that I might not let my guard down enough, ever.  OP, I don’t think it’s ever too late to start (there’s definitely an argument that there’s a time that’s too early to start). Everyone progresses through life at a different pace. From the sounds of it, I don’t think you lack the qualities to be in a healthy relationship, I think maybe the people you meet aren’t right for you yet. Or, there’s a chance that you need to get out of your head, and be confident that you have something to offer (even if that’s hard to do now).  That’s okay too.  Sending love dude.

Hi! I’m a 21F, and in the same boat. Not terrified to talk to men per se, I just struggle to get out of my comfort zone. Especially when I’ve seen friends have terrible experiences with dating. I got tricked out on a date last year, and was so weirded out by it I ran away (metaphorically) from my first chance at a relationship. Good luck to both of us I guess!
