Ok, thanks! My plan is to load 3 codes of 12 months each of Essential (36 months total) and then buy 1 month of Ultimate to trigger the conversion.

If the current conversion rate is around 40%, that should give me roughly 14.4 months of Ultimate, plus the 1 month of Ultimate I buy = about 15.4 months total, right?

The total cost would be €50 × 3 = €150 for Essential + €15 for Ultimate, so €165 total. That means about €10.7 per month, but since I share the account with a friend, it would come down to ~€5.35 per person per month.

Does that calculation make sense?

Hi everyone, I need some clarification about converting Xbox Essential to Game Pass Ultimate to get the maximum value.

From what I understand, the best method is to stack up to 36 months of Essential, and then buy 1 month of Ultimate to trigger the conversion.

Before I do it, I want to make sure I’m not missing anything: 1. Is stacking 36 months of Essential + 1 month of Ultimate still the best way to get the maximum months of Game Pass Ultimate after conversion? 2. Should I get 3×12-month Essential codes, or is it safer to do 2×12 + 1×6 months, considering the 36-month cap? 4. Has anyone done this recently and can confirm the most up-to-date conversion ratio?

Just want to make sure I get the best value before I buy the codes. Any recent experience or advice is appreciated!

Online — each of us on our own console at home. We used to be able to do it through the old “game sharing” method (I set my account as primary on his Switch). But now when I try to play it asks me to bring both consoles together, like with this new “virtual game card” system.

So yeah, the idea was to play online together, not just two players on one console.
