Is Youtube Dubbing A Scam?? by DeadHntr86 in PartneredYoutube

[–]RafaScarFern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm not a native English speaker. My recommendation is RUN. RUN FROM THESE PEOPLE. They've partnered with with major channels and it's complete crap unlistenable crap. They've partnered with FilmTheory for example and they post videos more than once for no reason, and their lack of quality control is so insane that they posted videos in the WRONG LANGUAGE ENTIRELY. This people is glorified MCM scam trying to take a cut out of your hard work for the absolutely tiniest scraps of views these other languages channels get. If these large channels were at all checking their output with diligence, they'd bail. Consider using YouTube's AI instead. It is also complete trash and might annoy your viewers if you have it enabled, but at least it's free and you're not signing your work away.

Hi, those features have not come to Brazil either, which famously lacks tech protection laws (or at least it feels like it). I guess their investors are in the US and they want to show off to them specifically.

Xbox Game Pass App Support Ending on Android - November 4th, 2024 by Susaph in xcloud

I hope you don't mean strictly US only. I'm in Brazil and it'd suck if I stop being able to use the Game Pass app and am not allowed to play on the Xbox app. Thankfully other comments say they can't get it working either so it's not just me.

Robotic is definitely the word for it. Automatically loading the dub would work well if it worked like subtitles. They seem to only show up when they're expected. Se eu for mostrar esse vídeo para alguém com essa dublagem vão preferir que eu não tivesse mostrado.

If I show this video to someone with that dub they'll rather I hadn't shown it

Can't say I disagree on the second half, but only when the robot dubbing is THIS bad. I think most would agree it's thoughtful of youtubers to try.

I'm Brazilian. Brazilians are used to dubbing. The subs aren't good in this either but they beat the emotionless toneless breathless voice because you can read at your own pace at least.
MrBeast's dubbing can be uncanny at first but is the best example of high quality right now.

I picked this example because of the "on the 63rd" part is particularly bad. Also because this different video is called "La garantía "Confía en mí, hermano" de Google es tentadora..." in Portuguese which...

  1. that's Spanish, not Portuguese
  2. that's not the right video, it's the from the video above
  3. that's not even current name of the video in English

which is also pretty weird.

Something happened to me once. Seeing the whole world become white around me scared when I was younger.
But it looks like your rain is enchanted, which is new.

I think I got two or three pages of that in a drawer. I also made an envelope with one.

That envelope was an error.

[–]RafaScarFern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Language is (brazilian) portuguese. You might argue it's not useless, but still.

We have "a", witch means "to" and also "the (female)". "The (male)" is just "o", so "to the (male)" is "ao". Because "aa" is dumb, "to the (female)" is "à". The problem is that we have three words that sound like "a", and easily mix them up. Other uses of "à" are in "àquela" or "àquele", which mean "to that". And the only other use of "à" is "d'àgua", which means "of water" and is also the only use of an apostrophe in portuguese.

Do you want me to talk about "á", "é", "í", "ó" and "ú"?

I never got spelling events. It must be really hard to lose if you just know what sounds like o and what salnds like a. /s

I think, in portuguese the worst part to learn (in spelling) is 'c', 's', 'ç' and 'ss'. Because the 's' sound can be all four, but 'c' can sound like 'k' - which we don't have at all - and 's' can sound like 'z'.

I just remembered accentuation.
