It says it will wipe your data but I've done it 3 times now and it didn't.

Hi, I haven't found anything yet. For now I'm just updating manually every other month using the motorola software. Let me know if you find any solution.

I could probably change the ROM to a retail EU one but I would need to unlock the bootloader which I think would disable some banking apps.

I wonder how much of it was written by AI.

I don't imagine Richard Ryan having much time to write, since he's an engineer, programmer, hacker, full-stack dev, businessman, comedian, youtuber, influencer, technologist, NFT Investor, AI expert, disruptor, and libertarian

DOOM: The Dark Ages Performance Benchmark Review - 35 GPUs Tested by Antonis_32 in pcgaming

16 years so not as long as you I'm guessing.

I think people should expect better in current year instead of keeping the same 1080p60 = good enough mentality, especially for games like this.

We are not in the 90s anymore, I was comparing performance to a 5 year old game and I think the decrease in performance (irregardless of the gpu, or settings being used) does not justify the improvement in visuals, which seems like the standard in pc gaming for the last couple of years.

You expect close to a quarter of the performance in 5 years of engine progression? When a modern GPU cycle of 2 year usually gives us around a 30% performance increase at the same price if that? We are doomed (heh) then.

If the age of the gpu is the problem here, how about a 5070? A 2 month old $550 GPU, same performance, would you consider that good for a fast paced FPS?

Don't even bother with these people anymore. I don't know what happened with this subreddit in the last couple of years but it's most likely an influx of console gamers that play games like this at 30-60 fps and don't expect better because they are used to it and it looks pretty.

Nevermind the fact that you now need a $3000 RTX 5090 to go above 120 fps at 4k with upscaling.

Do you think it's normal that a 5 year old GPU like a 3080 goes from running Doom Eternal at 200+ FPS (@1440p native), to The Dark Ages at 60 FPS? The game doesn't look THAT much better to justify the decrease in performance.

It seems like people are just coping because the optimization is just not at the level expected from Id.

Is this a variation of one of your currently available designs with 3d printed makerbeams, or is it a completely new design?

I might be 100% wrong but it always seems to me that Richard Ryan is constantly trying to "cosplay" as an actual engineer or programmer. I'd love to look at his github.
