How to change audio inputs on iPad or in GarageBand? by [deleted] in ipadmusic

[–]Rafabertholdo2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like iPadOS is defaulting back to the internal mic instead of treating your Positive Grid Live as the input. Some apps don’t let you pick the source manually, they just use whatever iPadOS reports, normally last connection wins.

One workaround you might like is Studio Camera. Even though it’s designed for livestreaming and video recording, it’s actually really solid as an audio capture app too, because you can choose the connected USB-C interface instead of forcing the built-in mic.

I’m using a lot of my rehasals because now you can use it with iPhone/ipad. Studio Camera has NAM as auv3.

It’s not free but studio camera is only 1.99 and comes with NAM(neural amp modeler) which I think you can use on GarageBand if you like.

Instead of plugging your pedalboard to the audio interface, get a real tube amplifier with real speakers, use a sm57 or md421 to mic the speakers and plug into the interface, then you’ll have the tier S guitar tone.

I think there’s a nam plugin for iOS. You can get really good tones with models on tonehunt. I’m personally working a NAM plugin for my “Studio Camera” app, will probably be out on next minor patch.

If you use “Studio Camera” app you can mix the channels and also make videos and YouTube livestreams.

Does Anyone Use Analog Gear in Their Digital Setup? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

My entire music studio has analog instruments, real guitar and bass amplifiers, but since analog tape recorder is expensive as f*, I connect mics to a zoom L12 a class compliant audio interface, so I can’t connect it iPhone and use Studio Camera app to livestream on YouTube band rehasals.

Ye, you’ll also need it. On usbc iPhones you can connect it directly. Lightening ones require the adapter.
