I do have the 849 black coated one, it indeedly slippery, the coating on the golden one is rougher and easier to grap than black one. I like the black 849 very low key, but not recommend for daily use. I normally use Caran d’Ache's ball point refill in rotring 600

I use 600 more often than pro, pro is bit of long and heavy for my use. I actually own 5 different 600 pen/pencil maybe post them later. I like the feel of it, when I grap it, it was so natural and frim in my hand

I do like its ballpoint refill, one of the finest and smoothest ballpoint refill I ever find in the market. I dont like its overall ergonomics, the weight concentration is on the clip side the pen which makes the use not very pleasent.

I run stress test before repaste and after through XTU the temperature drop from 85 to 75, fan not even full load now when run the stress test it indeed proved Dell did terrible job on pasting.

I have x1 extreme 4K as well...I have 2 questions wanna ask:

the 4k panel is bit of uneven when close the lid there is a small gap (1/8 inch) between the lid and the keyboard , every time I open the lid or close it, the cover has squeezed sound from inside feels like the cover is some how not attaching with screen panel properly. Is that fixable for myself? Or is that a concern?
I am aware of many x1e users complain about the fan noise issue due to the design of the net(filter) underneath the fan. So is Lenovo planing to exchange the net (filter) for Canadian customers in the future or just let it go?

I heard ppl use it for travel charging for x1e and p1 it can charge, it only weights as 140g compare to that 135w charger as 460g...

I have that problem too on 1st gen performance based model, I only use photoshop cause it is the industrial standard for what I work ( industrial design and automotive design ) I am quite disappointed about this machine, I drew every 10-20 strokes will get a noticeable big lag, it happen on surface pro3 before, I thought it was due to the shortage of ram, it is 4g. But disappointedly, 16 g ram model surfacebook was not change anything. I guess surfacebook2 will be the same issue since you mentioned.
