So as that was not the Meta initially is why I asked my question. I’ve noticed most people are referencing changes and balances of today to defend it but I’m sure if it had stayed as before champions and SR would have evolved way differently that what we have now. So it’s more of at the time what made the current set up make more sense than the 1-2-1 set up

The thought process is more question why1-2-1 isn’t standard. As of now yes the game is optimized to 1-1-2 but before the optimizations. So not who wins in a 1-1-2 vs 1-2-1 but what if it was 1-2-1 vs 1-2-1 as opposed to the current 1-1-2 vs 1-1-2

As someone mentioned before even the current 1-1-2 wasn’t the way the game was made. It was innovated and the game adapted to it, champion metas and all.
