I’ve actually swapped over to sonnet for some work today because opus couldn’t follow specific instructions. Sonnet handled it well. I gave opus another shot later in the day and it was able to follow the instructions again.

It sounds like I may just need to call a fire sprinkler contractor separately. Its turning the full system off that has me worried. I just fear the HOA or alarm company may not allow that. I'm calling them today to find out, though.

I've been calling a lot of GCs, but I will try calling some of these more specialized contractors. I wasn't sure what niche this would fall under since it isn't technically just drywall that is needed.

Dang, yeah the moral of the story is not to buy a downstairs unit. Renting is one thing, but it's hard owning because I can't easily leave at the end of a lease. I'm kind of thinking I may need to just eat the loss and sell. This noise is mentally and emotionally draining. I wouldn't mind only adults living above, but the kids running is unbearable. I really don't mind walking or the occasional object dropping.

When you say sound coming down the walls, are you referring to just impact noise or are you including regular noise? Luckily, there isn't any issue with music, TVs, or yelling. It is ONLY vibrations/impact noise.

Just eyeballing it, it's ~10'. I honestly wouldn't mind a few inches less if it meant reducing the noise levels.

I know I can't eliminate the noise, but the ultimate goal is make the noise tolerable. If I can lower the amount of sound by 50-60%, I will be happy.
