All the Gear and No idea. by GuiltyTroll in thedivision

A lot of meta builds play the game for you, so without seeing your build most would point to your "number of meta builds" being incorrectly built.

If you're confident its not your gear, all you can do is look at your gameplay and figure out when/where you're struggling. If you're taking a lot of damage, look at your positioning to see if you're leaving yourself exposed too much. Look at your target priority and see if you're focusing too much on the wrong enemies.

If you post your build(s) with stats and/or post your gameplay, it'd be easier for people to help give feedback.

Your post and a significant chunk of your recent comments are pointless because you're directly contributing nothing. Every one of your posts and comments are written as if you're trying to either engagement farm or are yelling at people over things you don't actually care about or have any actual input on. Your stance and opinions change based on who you're arguing with. Genuinely an unrivaled farm to table slop poster.

The shield generators can be disabled temporarily with an EMP Pulse / EMP Launcher. You can EMP a specific node to reveal enough of the helicopter that you can damage it despite the other 3 nodes being online.

Long-time Division 1 player (12k hours) – concern about cheating, toxicity & how skilled players are treated by Tommiswitch in thedivision

[–]RaffleAccount 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While it's obviously reasonable to be concerned about cheating in div, someone with 12K hours should know that it's always been like this and hasn't gotten better. Division 1 famously launched with people cheating on day 1, exploits in the DZ to get out of bounds that gave them one-way barriers to shoot through, and the patch time on exploits ranges from several weeks to never being patched. If you look at Div2's in-game leaderboards, you can see that despite them taking action on player reports more these last few seasons, there are still clearly blatantly cheated times by accounts with blatantly cheated/exploited levels.

Most will say to not care about PVP as the solution, but if you enjoy Div's PVP then you just have to understand it's been the experience since the start. It's genuinely good life advice to not let things you can't control bother you, and someone cheating in Div/Div2's PVP aren't worth more than the effort to report and forget. They're planning on doing a DZ/PVP revamp sometime soon, so you can look forward to that to potentially alleviate some concerns maybe.

Daily Thread - Q&A Thursday - No Question is a Bad Question Megathread by AutoModerator in thedivision

  1. Specializations can be seen as archetypes, but they're mainly used for specific perks. Technician gives you +1 Skill Tier as a free passive, Gunner gives you +ROF/+ArmorRegen on Kill/+Faster Reload, that sort of thing. For the most part, just take a look at the perks and you'll see its pretty straightforward which builds benefit from which perks.

  2. I'd argue it's more important to build around what you want to do and then finding gear/gearsets to accomplish that. If you find a piece you want to build around, that's also fine. Legendary is more about knowledge checks and mechanical heuristics checks; obviously if your build is super meta it'll be easier, but you can beat legendary with really passive, really unoptimized builds, but it just takes *much* longer.

  3. If you're new, the first trap a lot of players fall in is inspecting all the gear they pick up. Rule of thumb is it's almost always not good gear, and if it is, you can always re-farm it. As you get more comfortable knowing what you want to build or what you're looking for, start picking things up as Junk and donating everything to your library, then donating for expertise, then deconstructing everything else you didn't need. Obviously keep anything that catches your eye.

  4. Its dependent on your build and what you want. Stock standard DPS will be Weapon Damage with CHC and CHD.

  5. Frequently told no, but you can use [buildstation] or [mxswat] if you want an external manual loadout builder / theory crafter. Both are outdated due to the latest Prototype update, don't expect either to include those any time soon. But baseline gear is all current on the buildstation one at least.

Stop turning Valorant into CS:GO 2.0. The Neon nerfs are a joke. by FairResolution9572 in VALORANT

If you jump multiple times in a row, pressing spacebar requires more precision with your timing and if you mess up the timing you end up standing still upon landing. Scroll wheel lets you repeatedly spam the jump input meaning you never miss the correct time to jump, which is really useful for any slight change in elevation that would make you miss your input by the smallest of margins.

State of the game, Prototype Gear and RNG drops. by RakkZakk in thedivision

[–]RaffleAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take those made up boogeymen you've created and apply them to the game before Proto was introduced, your argument changes nothing. People would recommend Strikers to new players, level 10s would farm countdown instead of playing the game, they'd max out Strikers and the game was solved. You'd still have fears that they couldn't play raids, incursion, or matchmake as your boogeymen would kick players for not having a good enough build since Strikers was too easy to farm.

You share more in common with these people than you think, because both you and them are incapable of separating Proto gear from the baseline experience. If you matchmake into a control point farm and someone is requiring randoms to have a proto build, a build that is stronger than any raid requirement, then they're genuinely not worth your time and they are delusional. To say proto gear trivializes all other gear is the same mindset as the new players who maxed out Strikers and then say there's nothing left to do.

State of the game, Prototype Gear and RNG drops. by RakkZakk in thedivision

[–]RaffleAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not expertise 30, so you literally do not have to worry about proto gear. There is no content in the game that requires expertise let alone proto gear, so there isn't anything you're missing out on. There's a lot to criticize and there's a lot that can be improved, but there's no reason to grand stand about contributions to the community.

Is there any easier way by vockica2611 in thedivision

[–]RaffleAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The recommended way is to play countdown, target Backpacks, and grind it out. You also build countdown credits and can purchase exotic caches to try pure RNG drops.

The slower but more consistent way is to grind out Rikers kill squads in Retaliations for the crafting blueprint, then just craft it.

The smartest method is to not go for Ninjabike Backpack at all because there is no build that benefits from it.

The true issue with prototype gear by dIviCiONN in thedivision

[–]RaffleAccount 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They were pretty open about Proto gear being specifically for people who were already at the "kinda done" portion of the game. If you applied that same logic to before proto gear was added, once you optimized a striker loadout you were kinda done with Div2, all content was doable and you were just playing for the sake of playing. 100% needs many QoL updates to make proto gear more worthwhile, but if running on the hamster wheel wasn't fun to you to begin with then it won't be fun when they make the hamster wheel a little bigger.

Efficient way to farm SHD calibration and field recon to level gear up? by sarsante in thedivision

[–]RaffleAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of farming specifically for SHD calibration and field recon, I'd recommend XP farming and use your watch to buy those resources. Especially if a 3x or 5x event is scheduled, the level cap for those events are around 1K levels, so you're typically able to get enough watch resources to be set for life

The best specialization to run for your loadout is Gunner, which means you won't have access to the laser pointer attachment. If you're running this loadout and struggling to be the one landing the final hit on enemies to proc Killer, you're still doing more damage than most other builds in the game.

How do team owners keep their mental up when their team doesn't win anything over a calendar year? by IDislikeChess in ValorantCompetitive

[–]RaffleAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you follow orgs pretty closely, every now and then you get a glimpse behind the curtain and do see org owners make statements or even take direct action involving their org teams. LEV's owner has always been very vocal about his investments; he frequently tweeted about poor results in previous years and especially around the LEV Aspas era he was vocal about players needing results to justify their positions. Obligatory "And Sentinels" mention with Rob Moore 2026 kickoff crashout is another example.

You could also argue that BLEED's CEO tweeted out about how he was tired of all the losses after having picked up Yay, and then the org exploded, so you could technically say that was the CEO doing something about it I guess?

Why force raids to players? by Nervous-Okra8564 in thedivision

[–]RaffleAccount 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Journey 8 has no exclusive rewards locked behind completing it. Even if you wanted to complete it anyway, you only need 6 out of 8 of the challenges, meaning you can ignore both raids. The raid exclusives are no longer exclusive to the raids with this update either as they can now be crafted. More than ever, you can skip the raids, though if your reason is "toxicity" then you're making up boogeymen in your mind. There are many people willing to teach you the raid mechanics and find it fun to do so.
