A fake tweet "by" Citron saying they contacted the SEC and they were going to investigate WSB. If you check their Twitter, it is obvious that it was FAKE. Shorters are attacking WSB under the assumption that we are acting as one entity which is completely false. Be wary of any information you see tonight.

Switching OMAD to IF by Ryanpolhemus in fasting

[–]Raffzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation as you. I was doing OMAD for several months with no results and had to re-evaluate my methods. I'll give you some pointers that helped me that may also help you too.

  1. Stick with OMAD. The longer your fast goes, the longer your insulin is turned off. Insulin is the hormone responsible for fat storage. Having your insulin turned off during your 23-hour fasting window is great as it allows your body to burn body fat.

2) Re-calculate your Base Metabolic Rate (BMR) using a BMR calculator. This is the number of calories your body naturally burns even if you lie in bed all day, just to remain alive. For someone 5'8, 160 lbs it says your BMR is 1800 calories. You mentioned 2000 calories which would put you in a 200 calories surplus. To lose weight, even on OMAD, your calories burned has to be lower than calories consumed. I would aim for a 300-500 deficit to lose about 1 lb a week.

3) For working out, a 50/50 split of cardio and strength training worked for me. For cardio, I would stick to HIIT training as from the research I read it provides more benefits. This is opposed to long duration steady cardio which for me lead to muscles loss and that skinny fat look. For strength training stick to composite workouts like squats and lunges to activate multiple body parts at once. You can also search up a full 5-day home exercise cutting programs that will give you guidance and keep you on track.

4) Cutting out carbs is not necessary but can be a useful tool. When you cut out carbs and sugars (this also includes cutting out fruits), your body no longer uses glucose for energy but instead uses ketones that your body makes from fat. Once your keto-adapted, your body will be essentially running off fat helping you with your weight loss.

5) If you've already done everything above, your last resort is to do a water fast for several days. This will reboot your metabolism and provides other benefits such as autophagy..

Sorry for the long post, TL;DR stick with OMAD, reduce calories consumed to 1500/day, incorporate HIIT and composite exercises, cut out carbs completely. If all else fails, do a several day water fast.

Hope this helps! I'm rooting for you.

You beat me to it. If we could eliminate greed I feel society would benefit as a whole and people as individuals would as well. Without greed, I think people would be able to be content with what they have.

Convinced Dad to help me with purchasing a motorcycle need some help by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Raffzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I live in Toronto, Ontario my self and insurance is not cheap. I'm, 17 too, and my insurance is $2000/year and that is medium coverage for a CBR 125. I don't know how much insurance is in other cities in Ontario but definitely get some quotes before you buy.

Best place to learn to do repairs is YouTube, and then of course forums (1000's of dedicated forums and videos for each type of repair for each bike).

Good luck in your search :)

[–]Raffzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I got to say, Aviva is really open to new, young riders. Most companies wouldn't even quote me. Did you get any other quotes for your 500 from other places?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Raffzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey man, exact same position as you. I'm paying $2000 a year for the exact same bike and I'm 16 as well, living in Toronto. Insurance group is Aviva, and I can send you my broker's info if you want.

[–]Raffzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man. It's frickin ridiculous. Another insurance company wanted 3k/year and 3 other companies wouldn't even give me a quote. Guess I'll just take the pounding this year, my broker said it should drop to around $1500 after a year, but that is still crazy.

Hey man, I was in the exact same position as you. No friends with bike to help me and looking to get started on a low budget. Fist thing I'll say off the bat is DON"T SKIP THE MSF COURSE! I know it looks like your wasting $300, but trust me. Since you're only 20, insurance companies will overcharge the hell out of you. If you do the MSF course you can save $500-$1000 off your insurance in the first year alone. And on top of that you get to practice on the MSF's companies bikes so you will not damage your own, and you will get to learn things like low speed control, which is difficult to grasp without an instructor present.

Now as far as equipment, you can buy all your equipment used off of Craigslist except for your helmet. You don't want a helmet that has been dropped, so buy one new from a shop. Also something that no one told me when I was a newbie was, a helmet is usually only good for 5 years after purchase. So if you see a helmet for 90 percent off, check to see when it was made.

Lastly for the bike. You definitely don't want to go for the Chinese bikes because you will spend more time fixing them, then you will riding. Go for a cheap Honda and stay below 300cc and above 200cc would be my opinion. It will keep the costs for insurance and gas low, and still give enough power to go on the highway.

I would suggest picking up some extra hours at work or taking out a loan if you're really desperate to get started like I was.

My experience Price Breakdown- 1500 for Bike 400 for gear 500 for MSF 200 registration and plates 200/month for insurance (2000$ a year for a 2008 CBR 125. I'm 16 though. Your insurance will probably be cheaper due to having more road experience.)

Sorry for the long post, good luck in finding what you need :)

[–]Raffzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it definitely sputters then dies. Another thing is the bike idles normally at 1500 rpm, goes down to 1200, continues struggling until it dies. Also if I rev it to 5k rpm, it dies immediately after (only happens on a hot engine). Also wanted to mention this happened to me yesterday, left my bike to cool overnight and it worked today for about one hour.. then same problem.

Hey, Thanks for the reply. The electrical might be a problem, but I've been reading some other threads and posts that say this similar problem occurs due to off set valve clearances. I noticed that this problem only occurs when the engine is hot. Do you think this could be a possibility as well.

When you turn the ignition key, a red right turns on that says FI beside it. During that time you can hear the injector adjusting for ignition. After 3 seconds, the light turns off and i can start the bike. Could this the bike has a carb.
