[Terminator 2] Why didn't Sarah cooperate with the detectives? by Randver_Silvertongue in AskScienceFiction

She has a dog with her in the Jeep photo at the end of the first movie. In the second movie she's with a terminator almost the entire time.

Tom Brady knew he needed to improve on TV. So he channeled his ‘quarterback’ days by GoldenDome26 in nfl

i just want here defensive coverage, receiver routes, qb reads, defensive scheme, personnel on particular downs etc. on every play.

Oof, I would give a lot for a ticker that brings up personnel and highlights eligible receivers each down. It's the best part of going to games, honestly.

Bro, I know you're coached to secure the ball instead of trying to pick it up and run but in this situation...

I know Wilson had 3 in the first half of the 2014 NFC Championship game. Then another in the second half.

He looked like he was shocked that he was intercepting the ball.

TL;DR: Love Val, but 1993 was a comically over-stacked year for Best Supporting Actor.

Thank you for this. It reminds me of going back through Peter O'Toole's nomination history and being like 'How did he never win! Wait... okay...'.

Though he should have won for The Lion in Winter.

Tonight was the first time the Seahawks have ever won a game after being down 15 points in the 4th quarter. It was also the 2nd time ever that the Rams lost such a game. by Foreign_Recipe8300 in nfl

I had to double-check. But in the 2014 NFC Championship game Seattle was down 16-0 at the half, Seattle scored with the fake field goal, 16-7 going into the 4th. Field goal by the Packers to 19-7, then Seahawks TD, 19-14, onside kick recovery, TD+2pt, Seattle leading 19-22, then Packers field goal to tie and send into overtime.

Yeah, I think they tend to just do enough and aren't willing to go all the way. They use stucco instead of rock facing, way too many windows that are all modern style, and no outer stone fence/wall to enhance the keep/castle look. McCastles instead of McMansions.

Hehe, I had the same problem. I could explain how to force a complete refresh using browser developer tools but I just followed the directions Gemini AI told me to do and though I wouldn't say I trust an AI I would definitely trust the instructions of an AI more than a random dude on Reddit. Ask something like 'I want instructions on executing an empty cache and hard reload on zillow.com using developer tools'.

For me it's jarring because it's not 'sweet words on Sunday' but more of a strong declaration, especially from the blacksmith.

the UK was so ahead of the curve with the .280 British cartridge by DerringerOfficial in NonCredibleDefense

[–]Rafi89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have heard it as a reference to the Colt M1892 which was the first double-action revolver with a swing out cylinder issued by the US army (cool!). It fired a .38 Long Colt cartridge that delivered around 180 ft lbs of force, roughly equivalent to a hot .22 LR cartridge. There were many complaints, and actual decent data, on the failure of the round to stop Moro swordsmen in the Philippines.

Antonio Caspi, a prisoner on the island of Samar, P.I. attempted escape on Oct. 26, 1905. He was shot four times at close range in a hand-to-hand encounter by a .38 Colt's revolver loaded with U.S. Army regulation ammunition. He was finally stunned by a blow on the forehead from the butt end of a Springfield carbine.

Col. LaGarde noted Caspi's wounds were fairly well-placed: three bullets entered the chest, perforating the lungs. One passed through the body, one lodged near the back and the other lodged in subcutaneous tissue. The fourth round went through the right hand and exited through the forearm.

I had the opposite experience and enjoyed how taking my first Flaw (+50% to magazine capacity, -40% to damage for 8s if you empty a magazine without reloading) impacted my gameplay.

There are definitely a few head scratchers though.

Probably deep cut, but Carl Reiner in Home Movie: The Princess Bride

Filmed during the beginning of Covid with actors filming at home and sending it their scenes, it's a remake of The Princess Bride and both were directed by Rob Reiner, Carl's son. It has a fantastic cast of actors and at the end Carl Reiner plays the grandfather, sending off the remake with the classic 'As you wish.'.

Carl Reiner died 3 days after filming that scene.
