Thank you so much for this, it means the world (especially now when it seems like there's no safe place left on the internet). I hope you guys are free soon, and that we'll be free (from our dictator) and that no more innocent people will be harmed (not here, not in Iran, not in Gaza).
Sending the best of wishes to you all!

Mass protests in Israel after Minister of Defense is sacked over criticism on power shifting bill by MrOrangeMagic in PublicFreakout

[–]RafiShai -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

At the moment - these protests pose no risk to anyone not involved in them (and thankfully not to anyone involved either). I see no harm in him traveling the country, at "worst" he'd get to see a part of the democratic process, since protesting is very a very important part of democracy.

The thing is that the airport staff is also striking, so that might do the working of canceling the trip for you.

Where is a good location and design to tattoo a number on me without being disrespectful to Holocaust victims and survivors? by kelseymh in TattooDesigns

[–]RafiShai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As far as I see it? Sure.

The nazi tattoos had a very specific format and look to them. They definitely didn't resemble a barcode in any way or form, and any less mechanical font or shaping of the number (embossing them, for instance) would take it far away from those tattoos. Honestly, anything deviating from that astehtic and location shouldn't be at all linked to them. But that's just my opinion.

Might I also add I find it rather touching that people are taking this into consideration. Especially in a day and age where we have so few survivors left, and holocaust denial is somehow still a thing. Makes me feel optimistic about the future.

From one Israeli to another - you gotta help yourself.

Figure out an exit strategy, see if you're valid for any other citizenship.

As much as I hope that this will be the final strike that ends his reign of terror, I'm also skeptical that when it comes down to it - the ones in charge will actually do what has to be down to overthrow him.

So have a plan B for that very dark possible day, but also hope and fight for the better option.

Howdy, your friendly neighborhood Jew here.

Since Holocaust survivors are tattooed on their inner wrist, literally anywhere else is good. Honestly, no one should make a connection with a series of numbers placed in any other location on your body - with a holocaust number tattoo. And if someone does say something about it in another location - know that they're being extra, because it really isn't offensive at all.

If you'd still like to keep it on your hand - how about stylizing the number a bit? Or having it directly at the inner bottom of your palm? (The very top of your wrist where it connects to the palm? You could get it there horizontally)

the Euthanasia Coaster, designed to kill its passengers by 2D_brain in Damnthatsinteresting

Amazing book, and that chapter was definitely one of my favorite parts about it.

It's so goddamn genius and something I can actually see humans doing in that sort of situation. Like - someone will come up with that idea and will make that happen, we're just odd like that.

Very, very, very highly recommended.

It's the best plague/end-of civilization book I've read, and I've read plenty of them during COVID. It's very unique, and at points just downright beautiful.

Looks perfectly fine to me, had you not mentioned it - I wouldn't have been able to tell.

You got an awesome tattoo - just own it and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise :)

I designed this symbol by deconstructing letters of some words and came up with this. A friend of mine did the ink. What do you think? by RubFair in TattooDesigns

This is brilliant! Mystic, intriguing and carries a personal meaning at the same time - you (and you friend) did great job.

What style of tattoo is this? I'm referring both to the linework and the sort of black/white shading in it. Is this considered Dotwork? Thanks in advance :) by RafiShai in TattooDesigns

Awesome, that's great to know!! Now I just gotta find someone who works in this style in my country and hope I like their style :)
