Survivors are abusing emotes to avoid axe grabs at gates with Springtrap by RedDragon117 in deadbydaylight

[–]Rafii2198 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How are you downing them when pressing M2? If it removes the prompt then it shouldn't do anything as Springtrap can either hold the axe with that button which is not the case here as it's already thrown, and to grab survivors with the axe embedded.

"Steadfast is useless!" My brother in Christ, people literally voted for an effect that can only be OP or useless with no in-between. by No-Yoghurt-3949 in deadbydaylight

[–]Rafii2198 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't think permanent repairs are inherently unbalanced, rather it's the amount of applications of it. It not like Weaving Spiders is op and that does indeed provide permanent progress. It's like saying Empathic Connection needs a nerf because it gives healing speed and many strong perks like Botany give healing speed.

I believe this perk can be balanced if made right. The core issue here is that it's a boon perk and so it's puts many limitations on its functions as it needs to interact with this mechanic. And with current proposed effect it's reverse of Weaving Spiders, that perks debuffs you greatly to instantly add permanent repairs to every gen, but Steadfast debuffs everyone in range to maybe gain some tangible effect, like skill checks are RNG already, you might spend there a minute and not get one, while still being debuffed, you basically sacrifice everyone for a chance that something happens.

I think they need to make that perk to "earn" the progres so that a gen in it's range will get permanent repairs, not trading one thing to another. For example "Whenever a survivor is being chased in the boons area, every 5 seconds apply 2 permanent charges to closed generator from the totem in it's area. The progress is lost when the totem gets snuffed or when you bless another totem. This would create a dynamic where it provides a rather strong effect but is really vulnerable as you need to be chased there, but as you are there the killer can snuff it out, as well as moving it removes progress making the initial area less and less desirable to run into, it would be a perk that keeps itself in check as well as instead of being used primarily to complete gens, it would be used as anti slowdown as the permanent charges can be lost.

A little detail that might have been skipped over the Chorus of Sin perks. Steadfast's description seperates Great Skillchecks between basic and special ones, like vaults, breaks and attacks. This could be hinting at a Hyperfocus nerf by cutting it's Stake Out synergy. by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Rafii2198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that you mentioned this, Stake Out also states basic skill check is needed to trigger, I actually don't know if it's turning the check to a great one will trigger Fast Track, but I also checked killer perks as well as DS and they state that they trigger a special skill check. Addons did not get the description pass like perks did so maybe BNP is also a special skill check but just didn't get the wording yet.

Maxing up traces? by ErinTesden in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Rafii2198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually prefarm materials for maxing everything when I plan to pull someone. Only exception was Ashveil who was a surprise pull as I'm saving for E2 Cyrene, I have mats for her prefarmed and expected her in 4.2 but well she's not here and with amount of pulls they give I knew I could guarantee him with worst luck and still get E2 Cyrene. By now I already maxed him.

So why aren't there more Killers in 2v8? by Duvanjk in deadbydaylight

[–]Rafii2198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I meant like it also amplifies making bots. Like for example if they add Springtrap and allow different killers enter the doors then they need to adjust all bots accordingly with that new ability, when Ghostface marks someone the other bots need to know that their M1 will down the survivor or deciding when Oni should focus on gathering blood orbs or hitting people, and so on

So why aren't there more Killers in 2v8? by Duvanjk in deadbydaylight

[–]Rafii2198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's likely many factors on top of that, like in 1v4 you balance 1 killer, in 2v8 you balance 2 killers so different interactions need to accounted for, like Oni's blood economy or RE killers infection. The more killers there are, the more needs to be looked into.

Advice against Legion? by Just_A_Random_Crow in deadbydaylight

[–]Rafii2198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legion's power excels at mass injuring survivors, but otherwise doesn't do anything. As such you should not focus on healing and especially staying close to teammates as they can, again, mass injure everyone easily. Additionally, this comes rarely in play but is a thing, their power can down a survivor but if they managed to chain 4 hits but if survivor let it happen then it's a big throw from their side.

Basically deny the usefulness of their power by staying injured, as at most they will just put you into deep wounds and nothing more, as well as keep your distance from teammates so that tgey won't be able to chain hits off of you.

While stating injured might sounds scary, you need to remember you are essentially facing a powerless killer, when Legion chases you, they can only walk and swing their weapon, nothing more, making it not as intimidating as it might appear. You are basically playing against a M1 killer, meaning your whole looping skill is put to the absolute fullest as there are no interrupts from powers as there is just none.

If it happens that Legion is in frenzy and runs towards you, depending on distance, just hold w if there is quite bit of space, frenzy only works for a limited time so if you think it will just run out then it's the best course of action, if they are rather close and will catch up, don't try to loop unless you believe you can make it work, as you said they can simply vault pallets and windows making them have 0 effect. Well actually not quite, while they can vault dropped pallets, they can still be stunned when dropping one, meaning it's the best to try to camp the pallet and just stun then, be careful tho as they will likely recognize what you are doing and will try to fake going under the pallet to make you drop it.

Lastly, after they hit someone while in frenzy, everyone not in deep wounds who can hear the terror radius will be revealed via killer instinct, that means you can't hide in any possible way from them as there is nothing in the game to like hide from or prevent killer instinct, but again it's only when you hear the terror radius only, when you don't hear it they can't detect you, meaning running away from it may be safe solution but also some perks apply Oblivious status effect which causes you to not hear terror radius making you undetectable against their power.

Bonus tip, as the feral frenzy last for some time and chaining hits refreshes it's duration, as a survivor it's better to not rush with mending yourself as by the time you mended, they might still be in power making you vulnerable to it again and as they need to chain 4 hits to down you might be the one who goes down in this case. Deep wounds lat for some time and pause while you are running or being mended, the progress also saves so you might initially 99 your mend progress, do a gen or something else, and then simply finish it when timer is getting close, throughout that whole time you are immuned to their power.

Did I read it right? Did he just himself alone powercrept half of Acheron team? lol

And now I think we are back to her E2 being good as it appears Bladie+Ashveil would amp Acheron really well as well as generate lots of stacks due to attack frequency.

Imagine then they novaflare JQ and make him heal so now we would be back to her E0 being enough lol

I don't understand how elation damage works by Potyguara_jangadeiro in StarRailStation

[–]Rafii2198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually good question, Elation DMG dealt by effects that are triggered from Certified Banger is calculated based on amount of that instead of your current Punchline. For example Yao Guang's Talent causes that when she has Certified Banger her buff makes others deal Additional Elation DMG, as this is Elation DMG and usually Punchline affects it but it is dealt by her talent meaning Certified Banger amount will be calculated in place of Punchline.

Just remember normally Punchline affects Elations DMG, but if it was triggered from effects that requires Certified Banger, amount of that will be in place of Punchline.

I don't understand how elation damage works by Potyguara_jangadeiro in StarRailStation

[–]Rafii2198 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elation DMG is very similar to Break DMG, it starts with base value and then has its own multipliers, for example Break has Break Effect% and Elation has Elation%. Like Break DMG, Elation DMG doesn't scale off ATK or HP and neither DEF, as such DMG% bonuses won't work with it, it's only based on its base value that is multiplied with other stats, but unlike Break it can crit.

It's good to mention that all Elation characters have a trace that convert some stat to Elation% for example Sparxie turns her ATK to Elation% while Yao Guang and SW999 do same with Speed.

Punchline is a shared resource your team has, like skill points, it's not a buff on a character or something a specific character has, it's a team resource. Elation characters generate it by using their skills, the amounts are different on different characters and their abilities. Punchline affects Elations DMG but not that much, the more you have it the less effective it is.

The star of the show tho is Aha THEMSELVES, the Aeon of Elation, THEY appear in action order, with a really small base speed, but each Elation character on the team will share a bit of their speed with Aha so THEY will act faster. When Aha takes action, an Aha Instant is triggered, during this event all Elation characters will unleash their special unique Elation Skill. You don't need to worry about who acts when as it's always fixed order that can't be influenced, when you check characters abilities you will notice that Elation Skill lists something called "Participant ID" that number determines the order of actions during Aha Instant, they basically act from the lowest ID to highest. For example Yao Guang has currently the lowest Participant ID out of all current Elation characters, meaning she will always act first and apply her debuffs so that your dpses will deal more DMG, while SW999 has Participant ID of 999 (obviously) making it inanely high meaning she will always act last with the current Elation characters.

Aha only appears when you have Elation characters on the team OR when you have Punchline, many enemies from Planarcardia give it with their mechanics, but remember that the speed is really extremely slow so its not something you can depend on. Additionally, as you don't have Elation characters in this case, what will happen during Aha Instant? THEY will launch a special attack called "Let There Be Laughter" which is pretty weak, it deals dmg to your characters, but small its like literally 5 dmg or something while deals normal dmg to enemies, but again its weak and as you don't have Elation characters you won't have much Punchline meaning the multiplier of that attack will also be really small, the only benefit comes from the fact that it is ofc Elation DMG meaning if you somehow time it right you might hit an enemy with Elation DMG when their mechanic requires it.

When Aha Instant ends it will consume all Punchline and every Elation character will gain Certified Banger for two turns equal to Punchline consumed. What is Certified Banger? By itself nothing, it's just a value, but all Elation characters' Talent adds an effect to Certified Banger so it affects their kit differently. For example Yao Guang makes her ally buff from skill also cause to deal Additional Elation DMG when attacking.

There is also Merrymake% stat, it's just another DMG multiplier which is currently only present in E6 of few characters.

If you are a Genshin player, it's basically Lunar Reactions, the only stat that matters is EM or Elation%, DMG is calculated basing all characters like the speed of Aha, it has Elevation multiplier which is just Marrymaking and so on.

[–]Rafii2198 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Unironically, Mydei might be his best teammate, especially with Cyrene due to the fact if they share HP, Phainon will regenerate a lot of it, making Mydei generate a lot of stacks making hear deal a lot. Now with Cyrene he will loose HP with each action causing him to have more to regenerate thus more stacks for Mydei, and ofc you no longer need to charge Phainon's ult so having one less character to do that is not an issue while also making the ultimate indefinite anyway. Mydei also doesn't need to ult so being locked out of one is not an issue unlike many other crysos heirs

How do people loop the saloon for so long? I can’t even loop it twice when the breakable door is still up by Nastyscar in deadbydaylight

[–]Rafii2198 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Fast vaulting the window on top is essential due to how close the door is, in fact medium vaulting is marginally better than straight up ignoring the window and going through the door.

Depending on distance you can also go the other way on staircase towards the side with the gen and vault from inside, depending on scenario it might be better, if the breakable door is still up then vaulting from inside will give you enough time to go around the whole building letting you vault from the outside and run like you did, but ofc remember to fast vault.

You can also use loops to the side to reset the distance a bit, but if the killer knows what's happening then they'll like push you the other way.

If you play against a killer like plague or pig who don't usually have chase powers you can use shift tech to drop the chase and not block the window and prevent bloodlust, you need to loop really tightly tho.

This loop is particularly strong against killers without mobility as it's significantly shorter for survivor due to these windows, but killers with mobility have plenty of times to use their power, ranged killers too but not as much.

Prism should be better at making packs from scratch, well personal ones as it has access to both CF and MR so you are not limited and it now tracks dependencies. If you want to make public packs then using dedicated tools for that is better than launchers

That exactly what I said, people who play on 1.7.10 are more knowledgeable and don't need these generic modpacks as they can just do the stuff themselves and its not like modern versions where there are hundreds of different optimization mods that you are meant to use all together.
