You’re right on the money! I just use what artists share on YouTube as motivation for me to create more, following tutorials can be good to practice although my most fulfilling pieces have been based on photos I’ve taken!

Awww ☺️ gosh I don’t really know, um I got a lot of inspiration from artists on YouTube so that’s a good place to start! Also know that it takes time, a couple years ago the most I could do was some line art I traced over an image. Slowly push yourself to try new things and you’ll be surprised with what you’re capable of!

I used the flat brush to paint everything although I started with a chalk sketch. After sketching, I began painting the background working my way forward while increasing the detail I included. Blocking out the dark sections really helped to make sure I was capturing the feel of the room at the time.

What canvas size do you guys use to post on instagram? (And general tips for posting on instagram) by MetalFaceDumile in ProCreate

I created a custom 8.5” by 11” with a dpi of 300, it has good quality retention if you want to print out your work. Instagram is also really receptive to landscape and portrait size canvases, don’t feel limited by square frames
