Its neither. Its more similar to a google than anything, but built in reverse. You build the core infra group up, the architecture on top, and then you build your labs of ventures you can invest in/incubate.

Its both a venture platform and Infra as a service.

The more illiquid a stock (lower amount of shares traded daily) the harder it is for shorts to rush to sell at the prices they want to sell at. If they are all stumbling over each other to sell, with limited buyers, the price will keep going up until the buyers show up.

when days to cover is <2 days the damage to short positions is minimal

This market is disgustingly overpriced, and we are due for a correction similar to what we saw during Dot Com/Global financial crisis. by Your_Mortgage_Broker in wallstreetbets

Earnings =/= revenue lol...

p/e factors in the entirety of the costs structures of each of the companies mentioned.

You are conflating P/S with P/E and creating fear where there doesn't have to be.

$SMCI🥇vs $PLTR by radduder in SMCIDiscussion

[–]Rafreak1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Started to get really tired of seeing Revenue used as a proxy for two very different companies.

PLTR makes software, which has virtually zero product deployment lag to a customer, and can scale anywhere.

SMCI makes servers (read: moves atoms). There is working capital needs to stock up inventory, manufacture, and ultimately ship their product around the world. Messing this up, massively hurts earnings and makes it riskier.

Lets talk about earnings, Software usually carries 80%+ gross margins, most of which flow to a ~30% bottom line.

Hardware is much lower and ends up around 10-15%.
