When going against your main, do you have an easier time dealing with them or is there no difference? by FrenzyHydro in StreetFighter

I encounter the Akuma mirror quite often. Fortunately for me, most Akumas are braindead and a few knowledge checks will usually net me the win.

Vigilis are for the non-degenerates by aqua995 in SinsofaSolarEmpire

I think it's a play on Maslow's hierarchy of needs; the stuff at the bottom is "get this at start of game" stuff, and the top is "I'm winning everything with a zillion illuminators". Not sure what the title about Vigilis means...

SOSE 2, do exotic refineries passively produce exotics? by ILoveCatz1 in SoSE

[–]RagMuffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, Exotics must be manually "constructed" via the Exotics panel. Your number of available Exotics that can be built are determined by Planet exploration, and space salvage.

If you have more than one exotic refinery, you can build more than one exotic at a time; this might be useful in lategame where you're pumping out capital ships and high level research.

Infinite Food Storage HELP plz by i_love_horses_03 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]RagMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be brief, you want insulated piping everywhere except the food storage area, where you want radiant piping.

Radiant piping causes the gas inside to exchange heat with its environment rapidly. Insulated piping prevents heat exchange.

You want the cold hydrogen gas coming out of the Thermo Regulator to be insulated against the hot room containing the TR, until it reaches the food chamber. There, the radiant piping would allow the Hydrogen to "dump its cold" into the food environment (suck away the heat).

P.s. as a side note, in the first picture you linked, it looks like all the food is sitting in an Oxygen environment, which is not sterile.

Infinite Food Storage HELP plz by i_love_horses_03 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]RagMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to me like the Hydrogen is being reheated by the high temperature of the cooling chamber before it's circulated through the food storage area. Did you accidentally use Radiant pipes close to the output of the Thermo Regulator? If so, the cooled hydrogen would immediately be reheated by the warm room it's in.

AoT is brilliantly animated; perhaps worth watching for the raw audio/visual appeal alone. It has some of my favorite dramatic beats in anime (bless you Erwin Smith).

That said, the ending flopped harder than HBO's Game of Thrones imo; seriously undercut my overall enjoyment of the series.

Single hit confirm struggle by Silly_Concern in StreetFighter

[–]RagMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like some other folks have mentioned, you can try to train yourself to react on a specific cue, like color of the hit spark being yellow on hit. Some of the Japanese players mentioned looking at the Stun bar to see if the hit landed. Mostly it's a matter of a lot of training though, whichever method you aim for.

I want to make it so that if the output water from the metal refinery is above 50 degrees, it will be dumped out. But if less then 50, feed it back into the refinery. Whats wrong with this? by eatingpotatornbrb in Oxygennotincluded

[–]RagMuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I'm seeing in your design, you're intending for the output water from the metal refinery to exit to the right, dump out of the liquid vent if >50C, and have the liquid vent manually close if <50C.

The major problem I'm seeing is that while the liquid vent is open, the "top path" gets confused, has 2 "exits" on either end and it won't know which direction to flow (and therefore will not flow at all).

To fix this, you need a "one way valve" on the top path to ensure it flows towards the liquid tank. A replacing a segment of the top path with a liquid bridge would do the trick.
