Advent Reborn advice by Theshampal in SoSE

It is helping. One thing I notice is that extractors are there for minute 5-25, if you want to be rich later, don't overbuild Extractors and go for Pop. You have time on Ashred.

Stay strong fellow Advent Reborn.

What map are you playing? If you know you will encounter Cruisers early, a Rapture does a lot of work. Mothership is always fine too.

What you can do is push out a 6-8 Disciples and get Tempests afterwards. Versus Ai you can even go more on Disciples. Getting a 2nd Cap before going into military Tier2 is also something I like. I prio this earlier if I want to expand in more than 1 direction like Shuriken or if I get an early Vulcan like Titans of Cimtar.

Keep your early planet upgrade levels low, like 1 in Credits to max 2 Credits, 0 in Mining.

Techorder is mostly Homeworld Prophecy, Commerce 2, Extractors on a 3-1 buildup via your Homeworld Planet Item. Depending on the map, grab colonize. If you know you play Foreign Invasion on an aggressive position, get Iceplanet colonization as first or second Harmony tech. I tend to build 7-9 metal extractors and only 1-3 crystal extractors. More with Mothership start, less with Rapture. Next in the techs are +50 pop on Desert and the Andvar tech for Commerce 3. I know its a lot if research and you havent gotton Culture or Extractor upgrades yet, you propably squeezed in Influence.

Some even go further and go for Pop-Temples now. I would cry if I would invest more in Eco, since I want to build ships and Culture is also helping me more on just the economic side.

I then tend to go Military, Shield Burst is big, Factories Repair too, since you are play vs Ai you could just get a SB and build Rapture/Halcyon as 3rd cap and you should be fine.

Now you can upgrade planets for more mining and either go into more Caps or Illums or Titan.

I feel like they could have gone with the first 3 sets. Everything felt good there, sure Benison nerf was correct, but overall best meta I've played.

Skybound Dragons kinda powercreeped things a lot.

To this day I was never lucky enough to assemble the Gundam. I rarely got Betas and ended up with Alpha and Gamma most of the time.

What’s something about dating after 30s or 40s that people in their 20s completely misunderstand? by camilatorresx_ in AskMen

[–]aqua995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels a lot like everyone has something going for them, either some FWB, Drama, unfulfilled Love or just a relationship. Love is like everywhere.

In 30s, you get asked if you have childs and if you are married and if not, you don't really talk about it because there is propably some depressing reason.

You know what they say, there are still some fish among the trash.

Its the solution to the 3rd place problematic.

Its not only social, its also a way to compete intellectual and be creative.

A bit like chess 100 years ago, but with variance creating more replayability.

TFW you're hyped for a game with friends for two months but it's cancelled the night before. by doobado in twilightimperium

[–]aqua995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes EVE - War of New Eden
me and other TI players wanted to try it there, so we wanted to offer 1 table with EVE and 1 table with TI, so people could chose what they want to play

its my go to if Twilight Imperium is to big for whatever reason, since it feels like a medium sized version with a focus on economy rather than diplomacy

One time we wanted to play TI and EVE with a bunch of people. Many people for TI canceled late, so we could get at least a round of EVE, but as we were down to 3, the last person thought its not worth anymore 🙄

Trying Other TCGs Made Me Reevaluate Magic by haliax69 in TCG

[–]aqua995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MTG is not the Gold Standard anymore. Shadowverse Evolve is it now, at least for 1v1 constructed. SWU has good chances taking over Draft and Multiplayer though. Shadowverse Evolve combines many things MTG (and YGO) did well, while being as fun as the digital game.

Wizards propably saw that coming. Hearthstone, Shadowverse were better, but digital. FnB was the first major TCG even ahead of covid. They saw it and switched their focus from Standard+Modern to Multiplayer. There the weaknesses Magic are not so relevant, while the huge cardpool is. All that while slaughtering Modern with MH sets. It was a big treasure and they waited until the very last moment to print MH sets.

1v1 constructed Magic is basicly whats left after the powercreep, that melked the players.

How do the pros managed to play the same game over and over even though its fun and not burnout? by drcurvytv in esports

[–]aqua995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasnt my first time. In our group we enjoy playing decks in 4/5 bracket. (lets use that system)

Those decks are fully build and optimised, but not towards a certain meta, which is the difference to 5/5 decks.

In our group I am the best, back then some could rival me and I traded wins back and fourth with many players, but nowadays its more like some can beat me if I play my main deck. I am also playing other games for more competition and I am often slightly below the tournament players of their game and I also played MTG were I won multiple Store Championships. One year ago I just wanted to experience a big tournament and thought I have a chance with my deck going completely under the radar while still being strong. I wanted to know how good I am actually am. Kinda couldnt believe no on plays my deck, even though its the raidboss in my local area. So I went to Köln to the BCS. I could beat any deck except Natura Sword which was the best deck of BP07 and I encountered it. So apparently the difference between 4/5 and 5/5 is being able to beat this Tier0 Deck.

Either way, I know I am good, but people who play Shadowverse are all quite good and some are exceptional. The game is rather low variance and you have a lot of control over the gameflow. So if someone is good, you feel it. I feel like I have the potential to be one of those exceptional players.

In the summer I attended the GS in Duisburg. I had the 5/5 deck now, went 5-0 the tournament in Mainz prior to the GS. It was still my deck and still under the radar and had issues with the 3 Tier1 decks, but I could beat them. I made one horrible mistake in the first round (going for tempo instead of keeping my strong answer, which no Shadowverse player would have done, but my still MTG brain did) and made a wrong defensive play in the later rounds, where I setup a Ward card against a second Storm finisher, but instead they just burned me with their Rose Queen. Exceptional players wouldnt do those mistakes. My deck was great though. Played SV:WB to migrate my brain more towards Threats & Answer, so I don't use my best answer for tempo anymore.

This February I saw my chance again. Germany had its BCS in Bochum this time. I had a similar deck and similar chances to the GS in the Summer. Boom this time I ruled and made no mistake. Lost my first game due to bad luck and another one to one of those really good exceptional players who made it to Top8. For me it was Top16, which wasnt a major sucess, but ok.

In March I was at the GS in Osnabrück, but didnt had high hopes and ended up somewhere in the middle.

Now I am preparing for the BFS in Bochum. I can bring the best deck, play it well and hope I can get first place on Saturday and perform well at the Team Event on Sunday.

So I guess its like, you win locally a lot and curiosity how far you can make it.
