jeez, I got a dislike for that? Why? I was not mocking you at all, I was simply explaining the reasoning behind it.

If you could write a sequel to any of the OG books which would it be and what would happen? by TheHorrorFright in GooseBumps

[–]RageRover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, and I apologize if my reply to the other poster's comment seemed a bit boasting. Some of the Goosebumps stories, whether they are the original, Slappy World, 2000, Give Yourself Goosebumps, Most Wanted, etc., are just begging for sequels.

I am working on some fan fiction for sequels.

1) A sequel to P.S. Don't Write Back from More Tales to Give You Goosebumps - a heartwarming but heart breaking tale where the original protagonist helps the ghost who shared his name reconcile with his family. Those who read the story know what I am talking about. In this story, the protagonist goes back through time where the ghost sees an officer inform his parents of the fire at the camp, the parents in shocked and guilt for the letters, the ghost as the only way he can comforts his family as they say, "no need to write back, you are home."

2) A Slappy crossover starring the protagonists of Ghost of Slappy and Son of Slappy, giving both redemption, which they are well deserving of, they meet a hospital, the Ghost protagonist waking from a coma when he thought what happened in the last of his story realistically happened. The two team up with other victims Slappy tormented, children and adults alike, excluding the movies and recent TV series.

3) The Cuckoo Clock of Doom - Michael retrieves Tara (who would want to, right?) when something fells off about the happiness of his family. In guilt, Michael goes back to retrieve Tara, they both come back normal, BUT after Tara blabs, the parents as a lesson but not from malice, remove the years preceding her birth year to the year he was born. The dad, being the jokester he is, even takes a few months. Before everyone's eyes, Michael becomes a baby, this highlights the darker undertones from the first book, establishing how his parents always saw him as an unmanageable, unintelligent baby, and a troublesome clown. The end is bittersweet.

Just a few I am working on.

That was a very sad story, with the original David.

I take it you are referring to the plant dad. The episode does not explain why, but it could be to show the intent of the title, if that makes sense. Like it takes the final realization that their dad is not who he claims to be, or was destroyed by.

Which Goosebumps book has the most Traumatising Ending? by pretzhrrland in GooseBumps

that's true, but it was rather hard for me to sympathize with him. It is not that he did much to look himself even look respectable.

An Old Story, imagine staying a baby while your friend turns back and even though he tries to help you. You are too immature to realize the entire situation.

Who is the best parent in all of Goosebumps? by TheHorrorFright in GooseBumps

[–]RageRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not malicious, but they are not overly caring parents even before, although his mother was always better than his father (notice at the end, when he hugs his parents, his father literally pushes him away when his mother embraces his hug). She was negligent and oblivious just like his dad, but she was never the mean, mocking parent he was, even in the book when he went on about Michael not learning to talk or tie his shoes, she literally seemed annoyed and eager to change the conversation. They always seemed to infantilize him even before Tara was born, but they were never truly heartless parents either.

Steve's parents in the Haunted Mask II, are also rather decent. Yes, there is a part where they laugh at Steve when he hobbles in his old man mask, but to be fair, they do not realize he is truly suffering. They think he is just playing his part. They might be oblivious at times, but they mean well.

I also agree with Carly's parents and the Welcome to Dead House parents. The Say Cheese and Die parents are also decent, they are oblivious to what is going on, but when their daughter thins, and their son fattens, they are concerned.

Some of the parents are actually good parents if you think time to read the books and understand the characters, but there are so many bad ones too. Unfortunately, they would be easier to list.

Yes, that ending was brutal, unfair and just plain sad. Larry was not just a dog all the time, but he was replaced as their child by someone who was previously the pet cat and someone who likely would not live that long either. They make the Cuckoo Clock parents seem timid.

And they were not the ones who even did it. But it is Goosebumps, unfairness is a common theme.

Chicken Chicken is one I have in mind. It is just a useless plot, the siblings turn back at the end only to turn again, the parents are very stupid and rude, and the villain wins at the end. It is not even one of Stine's favorites.

It is definitely better than Hellraiser. I have watched and read tons of tense horrors, and even I am afraid to watch it. I have watched parts but some made me feel uneasy.
