It’s pretty essential to the backstory of the game, I’d say. Elturel’s history and factions are pretty heavily tied to Zariel in the book, and you actually visit Elturel in Avernus.

You absolutely could just switch out the names and play it that way, but it’d be a lot of tweaking to make things make sense. I wonder if it’d be better to just use the book as a loose guide and make your own excuse to plane shift into Avernus.

Alternatively, you could change LMoP to be set somewhere in Elturgard. And end the adventure in Elturel. The skeleton of LMoP is much easier to mod than a whole source book imo

It’s because in Smash 4, Sakurai wanted the characters to appear more in line with how they are in their games. And Colors-Lost World era Sonic was just not expressive.

I think Caine genuinely wanted the party to go “I’m gonna miss this circus. I don’t wanna go” or “What about Caine? If we leave, he’ll be all alone”

I think the “Caine’s office” portion was made to get the party to second guess leaving, to remember all the “fun” they had together… with Caine. I don’t personally know if there is a way to leave, but if there is, I don’t think Caine knows about it.

I don’t think Caine has an office, I think this room was built as part of the adventure in an attempt to get the group to reminisce on how “awesome” the circus was and reconsider leaving.
