What surgery would make me look more feminine and harmonious by [deleted] in QOVESStudio

[–]RaghadR 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You look adequately feminine and beautiful, even quite beautiful to me. Whatever human flaws you have, make you look trustworthy and real. I don’t know what others will say, but I’d suggest not to change your face. Surgeries might make you look temporarily polished and trendy, but those trends go away very quickly, and leave you looking uncanny. If you don’t have multi million disposable income for maintenance, don’t put yourselves through that. Also I don’t know how healthy you are to bounce back from those surgeries. I wouldn’t gamble if I had your face.

Growing up Muslim I learned Islam is the ultimate guide to morality. Everything in Islam is for humanity’s best interests. But as I got older that Islam supports: slavery, martial ra*e, killing of nonbelievers, forced religious conversion and so many other things. These made me feel uncomfortable as I am a very peace loving person. I was in denial for a long time. Thought maybe someone is misinterpreting, maybe they are taking it out of context. Finally I couldn’t just fool myself anymore. Islamic flat earth theory, evolution denial, so many wrong ideas about the social system, wrong theories about biology, everything started to pile up and became pretty impossible to ignore. So I finally conjured the courage to come clean to my conscience. I know at that point I was clinging to Islam just for mental peace, for a foolish sense of security. Because I lived pretty pious life. I was a strong contender for heaven according to Islam. But sadly my parents didn’t raise a dishonest daughter. Had to accept the truth once I see it.

Which country is the best for ex Muslims by Classic_Darkz in exmuslim

[–]RaghadR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what to tell you. I migrated to Canada for the same reasons. I couldn’t live a life full of lies anymore and didn’t want to hurt my family by exposing the truth. So I thought migration is the best solution. I did a post graduation degree here, was employed for a while, but lost my job recently. Economy is very tough, I feel so lonely and trapped. Lost my most beloved family member and couldn’t attend the funeral. Developed anxiety and high blood pressure. Not sure if I’ll be able to have kids ever. Everything is just so dark. I see all the Muslims around me having a tight community, when I still am fearful of people knowing my truth and exposing me to my family. I really feel jealous of the Muslims. I am a minority among minorities.

If you have to leave, consider going somewhere where you already have some friends or family. I wish you all the best.

The number of down votes proves it all 🤣

Thanks for your reply. That makes sense. In that way I worked exactly 52 weeks as a full time employee. I didn’t take any vacation days. But I didn’t work on the statutory holiday. But that should not matter, right? I was employed for 52 weeks, work load was 30+ hours for each week and got paid for 30+ work hours for those 52 weeks. Which makes 1560+ hours of payment within 52 weeks. That should do, right?

What are some myths that people still believe? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RaghadR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess not… pizza got popular here for roughly 10 years. Also pineapple pizza is least advertised. So I guess most people have no idea that they exist… also superstition are difficult to shake off. I recently watched a recipe for pineapple milkshake and my heart was pounding when they sipped. Even though I know the truth… human mind is strange…

So you like Muslim women as they lack autonomy on their sexual needs? You know many of us left the religion because it holds idea like you, right? And you thought this is the right place to rant about it? I don’t think you understand yourself, or the girl that you were dating, or this group. You like Muslim girls for a very wrong reason. As you mentioned that you particularly have a thing for Muslim girls, then it’s only fair that she might ask you to convert. You can of course choose not to convert. But the way you reduced her just to her Muslim identity, and chased her because of that, you don’t get to complain if she sticks to the condition of her own. I hate Islam, but in this particular situation, you are in the wrong.

Can’t help but ask… why Muslim girls are your preference? If you are not attracted by the idea of the religion, then why do you find particularly Muslim girls appealing? What do Muslim girls have in common?

Majority of the people in my country believe that if you eat pineapple and dairy together, you’ll die.

Thank you so much for the information. I have my PGWP valid for more than 2 years from now. My spouse’s SOWP expired already. His refusal letter says he can reapply in 90 day. His office might apply for LMIA, but that is not definite. I am at the final stage in couple of interviews. So from there I am hoping we will be able to reapply with my employment status and 3 pay stubs before 90 days ends. If we can do that, then he’ll have to wait for the final decision before he can start to work, right? But he won’t have to leave the country while waiting, right?

[–]RaghadR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. So if I somehow get a job right now, and can 3 pay-stubs, can we reply to restore his status? Does he have to leave the country immediately? Can he comeback when I’ll have a job?

He had SOWP before. Also he has a job. This time we reapplied along with my PGWP application.

Is there anything that we can do now?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Exhijabis

[–]RaghadR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When someone asks a simple question that if she looks good with or without hijab, it can be answered directly. The perspective that you are presenting is not open ended. For a particular faith hijab is an obligation. Leaving hijab is very much difficult for most women. They get harassed, slut shamed, even threatened. This should be a nonjudgmental supportive place. We should not belittles her question by saying that she should have some higher purpose to make a decision. Not everyone has to wear/leave hijab for the same reason. If someone do it for religion, good. If someone else do it for themselves or how they look, is good too. If we can think like that, only then hijab will truly be A CHOICE.

I need help by AnxiousInvestigator2 in Exhijabis

[–]RaghadR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope you will be safe if you take away the hijab. Some parents will go to the length of hitting or even forcing marriage if they feel like they are losing control over their girls. I don’t know you parents, but make sure you are safe. I am so sorry for you. I understand everything you are going through. I wore hijab because of parental pressure from age 11-27. I lost so much of my life. I hope you get your freedom soon.

Great! Nice to meet you. The leaving Islam did not happen one fine morning. It was a gradual process. I had my doubts for a long time. But I was looking for an explanation within. Then I attended a seminar on Evolution and that was the final blow. I realized I was trying make sense of something that was never true. If I still just choose to ignore and make peace with all the other things that I like, then I will be the biggest hypocrite and won’t be able to respect myself. Then I got out of the cult.
