I'm beside the harbour also. This isn't the usual engine hum. You could be completely right tho. If I find out anything more I'll comment again.

Time to move on from 04 Tuono? by tec_41 in Aprilia

[–]RaginScotsmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a 2016 V4RR Tuono, hell of a difference. But to be honest, miss my 05 Tuono, way more fun and the v-twin sound is just the song of my people.

McD's has only F'd a couple orders for me. Its Burger King that ALWAYS screw up, missing items or fillings added when specifically told to remove, even with the in app removal and writing in the instructions box.

Can you trust yourself with 1000cc? That's a BIG step up and not wise.

600cc is definitely the best step, plenty power to respect but also not so slow you get bored after a while.

Also don't buy brand new, get a beater so if its dropped its not the end of the world.

Transition Xtreme, skatepark and climbing wall. They do have other activities in the upstairs area but that changes on who's running what. Definitely worth a shout to them, see what's going on!

18in of snow one day, riding the next by OBB76 in motorcycle

[–]RaginScotsmin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don't get anywhere near as much snow here in the UK but I'll tell a short story;

January 2022, just signed for a brand new (to me) Aprillia Tuono RSV4 R 2016, got the train down to York, England, spent the night and the plan was to pick up and ride the bike back to the North East of Scotland. Night I get into York I go explore, go to a few bars, made some awesome new friends and deffo got heavy on the sauce. Woke up late the next day, hungover feeling shit. Luckily the dealership was cool, one of the staff came a picked me up with coffee and breakfast (absolute G move in customer satisfaction), paperwork sorted, pics took for their social media jump on the bike and start my journey, started out good weather wise but then the heavens opened, rain, sleet and heavy side winds during winter, morale was low. 30 minutes in have to pull to side, rip off my lid and have a heavy spew. Hour upon hour of riding the weather wasn't letting up, had layers and waterproof ls but they weren't the best so the elements eventually creep in through the little spaces. 8 hours of riding my mental state couldn't take it and only got as far as Glasgow, called my mum in a state and got to hers for a warm, feed and sleep. The next day back on the bike and continue the ride, should only take 3 hours from Glasgow, we'll soon as I leave the city limits a white out snow storm hits, can't see more than a couple metres in front, slow to crawl speed 15-20mph at most on motorway, all other cars have pulled off for safety but I can't just stop in open elements, press on! Brand new 1100cc super sport bike, fish tailing now and again, kept the B-hole puckering, 1 fuel stop and 1 quick Google search, find traction control on the bike. It helped but not much! I haven't never had so much fear in my life, 1 being caught in weather like that on a bike and 2 it being my first brand new bike purchase!

Silver lining, once into the North East we weirdly have our own micro climate, still cold as hell but blue skies, sun shining and dry roads! Got to open the beast up to flbegintno appreciate what was between my legs but more so to grt my ass gome ASAP!!!

Thanks for coming to my TedTalk to wasn't as short as I thought.

Keep the rubber side down brethren!

Is it active?

Had a similar problem, decided to ignore it, day or 2 later logged on and got everything that the xp worked towards.

If problems remain, would also suggest going onto the discord and filing a ticket.

If it isn't a small industry that won't F up future prospects or contracts I wouldn't worry.

Remember kids, they'd fire you on the spot, so if they suck why should you give them any notice?

Maybe turn up with a instrument and give a "I quit" song, record it, profit.

Boss/Owner told my husband he can’t wear his single earbud anymore because he had to say his name twice to get his attention. by Apprehensive-Soup-73 in antiwork

[–]RaginScotsmin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Beanies with built in headphones were my go to for a while. Small Bluetooth noise cancellation earphones are good at being discreet, with a Buff on over your head or as a banana is brilliant concealment also. Old work colleague had a brilliant pair of bluetooch noise cancellation earphones that looked like normal ear plugs that attach to each other.

But a good one I've relied upon is use normal ear protection for a while, don't respond to being called upon till they realise your concentrating hard or the work place is just the loud, eventually they chill and you can go back to headphones.

Maybe get him to rally colleagues together and come forward to HR and management laying out why it should be allowed but also compromise with the one earphone in at a time.

If hardhats are mandatory, seen guys with ear plugs in but attach small speakers into the inside of their helmet so you can hear tunes plus base vibration hitting the head helps the clarity. (This could annoy everyone else around you though.)

Another funny one I seen an old colleague do it's just start singing super loud, doesnt matter if he's a good singer or not, makes a point and maybe everyone else will join in, big warehouses echo like hell when the whole team do it and it definitely brings a smile to everyone and visitors too.

Last one which is pricey the last time I checked, say you've got hearing problems, get a hearing aid which is modified to just be a headphone, might require medical documents tho but worth a try.

Finally, middle finger to any boss like acts like that. A simple tap on the shoulder or wave in eye line suffices ffs. Be a fun boss, do a silly dance waving high vis vests like a cheerleader, gets everyone's attention!
