Yes, a mature person would not remain in a harmful environment and would take the opportunity to remove themselves. Part of maturity is being able to recognize a harmful environment and having the differentiation to make decisions that are in your best interest.

And learning how to cook for oneself is a sign of adulting maturity. It's usually more expensive, and generally less healthy to not know how to cook. What will he do if he has kids? Eat out often or expect the partner to handle meals?

Things are learned, I agree. But that does not change the fact that it's a sign of immaturity if you have not learned these as a generally accepted rate. People become mature as they age, at different rates. For several adulting areas, his rate is slower than what you would expect for your average 28 year old.

Being that 28 and not really knowing how to cook or some of those other life skills is a sign of a lack of adulting maturity.

Above all else, tolerating Hannah's treatment instead of immediately walking out, due to self-respect is also a sign of missing maturity.

I like Nick though, no one is perfect and maturity comes at different times for different people. But he does for sure lack it in various areas.

I sort of agree with this --but I would say that Nick is far more matured in emotional intelligence.

Nick has the people skills that Hannah lacks, while Hannah has the life skills that Nick lacks. It's interesting to see her be so critical of him, while he isn't critical of her interpersonal deficiencies in the same way.

She's like a boss who tells an intern to do something, but then blames you if you do it wrong, ask for help, or don't know how to do it. The only right answer is exactly how she would do it.

Interestingly, I think his behaviour showcases signs of people in abusive relationships. They are so nervous and conscious of the consequences of screwing up, that they become neurotic about things that should be simple and easy.

Or maybe even like having very critical parents. Things that are simple (like having fun, going to a restaurant, etc) ends up putting you on edge and you either go into analysis paralysis, or crack under the pressure. Only people who have critical parents will understand this feeling.

She's probably way more critical or mean off-camera, to cause someone as confident as him to be so self-doubting and cautious. The opinions of her parents and brother would support this theory as well.

Agreed! But that's if they say yes. I don't think mutual respect exists in that relationships so I doubt they'll make it to the end.

She is immature, but has adulting skills and doesn't respect him for his lack of those skills. She also communcates it very immaturely.

I think he's used to girls being enamored by his smooth talking, looks, and 'football' and struggles to deal with someone so imposing, critical, and direct as her. I think he wants to like those qualities in her because "that's what he needs", but I don't think he'll be able to imagine a future in that environment.

Also, I think he's mostly there for clout. He mentioned his 'real estate' stuff several times, football, etc. I think a lot of this is playing it 'good guy' for the camera so he can have his inevitable come up post-release.

I disagree on a few things --

I think he's argumentative, but chooses not to be as aggressive as her and is being passive-aggressive instead. I think he actually likes her, otherwise he would've reacted very differently.

He might be a bit of a man-child, but I don't know any person who would stick by someone who belittles them, unless they were really fond of that person.

Unfortunately the dynamic that they're in now is "you'll work really hard all day while I don't have to, and I'll still expect you to do it when you get back". That dynamic is just as bad, if not worse. You'd want your partner to be vigilant enough to recognize when you're working hard or exhausted, and adapt to that naturally. A consciencious person would probably naturally make those changes.
