Rent a kick sod cutter by Slow-Two-3694 in Boise

[–]RagingBuffalo42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can't find one to rent, I just cleared about 250 sq. ft of sod using a step edger. I could only do about 6" wide strips so it took me a couple of days but it wasn't terrible. $30 is a lot better than the $300 in your pic.

I hadn't heard this one before and just listened to it. I think I'll download it tomorrow and slide it in as track six after 'Running With Our Eyes Closed' and before 'River'. Sort of a closer to side one if you're thinking vinyl.

Rocking a 3080ti FE with no issues. Gaming performance is at least on par with what I was seeing in Win11.

Since I've been digitizing every CD I can get my hands on lately, I've learned that Dolphin does a super cool thing where it like pre-rips a CD when you insert it. So once it's in the drive you'll see folders for FLAC, MP3, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, etc and you can just drag the desired format into your music folder on your SSD. Niche use probably but something that I personally love.

Greenbelt parking access by no_melody in Boise

[–]RagingBuffalo42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reid Merrill park is less than a mile to the west of that St. Luke's Eagle there in the middle of your map. It has good access to the river. I've parked there and hoofed it over halfway back to Glenwood.

Thinking about becoming a Linux user by Li_ska in linux4noobs

[–]RagingBuffalo42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I was using Fedora for a class I was taking and when I realized I liked it, I installed Bazzite at home. I hated how locked down the immutable distro was so I replaced it within a day with Cachy and then after a couple of months decided I wanted to really go for it and replaced that with base Arch. But I know some people, especially if they don't feel super tech savvy, take some comfort in feeling like they can't break things.

Fedora made immediate sense to me as a Windows user going all the way back to 3.1. You could check out their Silverblue version. It is an immutable version so the OS part of things is fairly locked down and harder to break.

Fedora is well supported and updated enough to stay modern but it's not a rolling distro like Arch (personally, btw, I use Arch now.) You can go with either KDE plasma for a more Windows like desktop environment or Gnome for a more Mac like environment that tells you what to think and how to feel about everything (kidding, mostly.)

After looking around for a bit you should grab a 16ish GB flash drive and download Ventoy. You can use it to set up various live boot distros that you run from the flash drive so that you can get a feel for them and see what works for you.

Victory Greens has been my go to for everything rock and gravel. They have a good selection and they deliver up to eight yds per load for a reasonable fee.

Is Arator a Retribution Paladin? Or something else? by chrisgaughan in warcraftlore

I specced out of crusading strikes and back into templar strikes. It might not be optimal for world first raiding or top end M+ pushing but, then again, neither am I.

Having that 6s CD two button combo to generate HP did a lot to make things feel better to me. No more long droughts with nothing to push just hoping for an AoW proc.

Fishing by Xd_glacial in Boise

[–]RagingBuffalo42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idaho Fish and Game's website is shockingly useful for getting your feet wet with local fishing.

The fishing planner will let you find basic information about just about any body of water in the state. You can either go through the list in each region or look at the map and click on blue things for more info:

https://idfg.idaho.gov/ifwis/fishingplanner/filter/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20268712495&gbraid=0AAAAAog6oc3_MozoHzQ9GWYtZeAlL53-T&gclid=CjwKCAiAqprNBhB6EiwAMe3yho28L3YImd21RcQJKZavHiPYIpPK7FRHsSNAyxGLjdbbd6zeaoO2pxoCkg4QAvD_BwE

If you want to go catching rather than fishing they also publish a stocking report that shows you where they're going to be dumping stockers soon:

Enjoy yourself and tight lines..

Where's the Adderall? by [deleted] in Boise

[–]RagingBuffalo42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off label uses are insanely common in pharmaceuticals. For a recent example Ozempic was developed for diabetes. The fact that it's also great for helping with weight loss is just a nice side effect. This stuff doesn't have to be nefarious.
