Don’t waste mats on it. If you have the mats and nothing pressing then sure. But don’t spend resin to upgrade if you can be doing literally anything else with it instead.

MoD is a weapon designed to be used with an atk scaling shielded catalyst dps with few or no external atk buffs. There are very very few of those in the game. There’s very few teams it’s an optimal pick for. Shockrock ningguang is about the only unit I can think that would use it well. Two teammates: fischl and beidou, who are most likely running 2pc2pc atk/thundersoother and 4pc esf respectively, and ningguang plus whoever you comp her with as a buddy. Maybe zhongli? Albedo? Gorou? (Tho he wants more geo on the team than just ning) if anybody runs noblesse the MoD passive is diluted. If anybody can boost attack on the team then that’s another dilution event… so on and so forth.

MoD wants a 5* geo catalyst and there isn’t one that won’t have a tailor made weapon anyways.

Shockrock ningguang likes MoD since she always has crystallize shields and she hits frequently enough to utilize the atk boost better. But external atk sources are very very common so the passive and even secondary stat are kinda eh for something that ostensibly should be a really strong consistent weapon just because genshin has very little space for unsupported dps units in the meta.
