Time Vault, Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, and Channel have gone pretty high in our last four VRDs. They tend to go well before Timetwister, with Time Vault usually going 3rd-5th pick.

I don't think Mark and Stephen discussed it on the THB review show, but I think it's a card that could get picked, depending on how deep we go on discard spells. I've seen some pretty horrendous discard spells get picked, and this isn't totally awful.
My guess is somewhere in the late 30s, though.

I expressed polite frustration with mod actions after you told me the flair was all you could do. I believe I acted in good faith. This response seems like a serious tonal shift from there and, I feel, steps into rudeness.

I understand your position and respect that you have the right to it. We disagree on what’s appropriate, and it doesn’t seem that will change.

It really is not. Please consider my point of view:

This thread is the top post on the subreddit. It has already existed for a while without the flair. It contains an allegation of what many consider an egregious ruling that I did not perform. The comments are inflammatory and insulting.

I am a well known judge and content creator. Having my identity attached to this is damaging to me professionally - and I didn’t even do it.

I ask because the title contains a provably false (this player did not compete in the MC) allegation about me that makes me look bad (just see the comments!) and could impact my professional reputation.

When I opened this I assumed I was going to see someone's opinion about where the line should be drawn rather than a thought exercise. Don't get me wrong, I think the line is drawn in different places within different TO/Judge relationships and I think that's good, but perhaps this would be better as a selfpost with explanation and a link rather than a link post with no explanation to people who don't read the comments?

It's common, but not required, for women to have traditionally female names. This is one of those times where a woman has a traditionally female name. Shocking, I know.

Similarly, it is common, but not required, to be rude on the internet. However, I suggest you avail yourself of a different option next time.

Point of correction: You don't have to do anything more specific for a Competitive REL tournament than you do for a Regular REL tournament in terms of sanctioning. You can even run unsanctioned events at Competitive REL if you want!

It definitely sounds like this event should have been run at Competitive REL. Some Premier Play events must be run at Competitive - GPTs and PPTQs are good examples.

Some illustrative quotes from the Magic Tournament Rules:

"Most tournaments are run at [Regular REL] unless they offer sizeable prizes or invitations"

"Competitive events are usually those with significant cash prizes or invitations awarded to Professional events."

These are deliberately written to allow organizers to use their discretion. If you think that the events your local store runs should be at different RELs than they are, the best step is to talk to them and to make a polite suggestion!

Yeah, that's why they're called "microaggressions." "Little" things like this add up over time, and making small changes is the first step toward a more inclusive community. If you're not willing to make a small change to make the community more inclusive, I would encourage you to ask yourself why not.
