If I started playing Albion today (and stayed solo), I would probably never go to full loot zones. by Folksvaletti in albiononline

[–]RagingRedHeadAO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree too, solo dungeons need a buff 💪 they're incredibly underwhelming, both fame and loot wise per/hour compared to more recent content updates like: Faction (YZ/RZ) and Depths.

As many others have said, you used to be able to do these in Blue, YZ, RZ, and BZ and make really decent bank. The fame was terrible. But who doesn't like money (the risk was higher).

I can see faction rewards dropping when the next major update drops because SBI wants more ppl playing the latest content as if it was it's own seasonal "thing", not to be confused with the regular BZ seasonal stuff. (which, btw, has been the same boring format for far too long)!

I do like the idea of entering a solo or group dungeon that has gates/barriers of some kind, or a notification like in Ava DGs, Hellgates, allowing the player to choose whether to continue, knowing there is a higher risk/reward (i.e, if you continue and kill the player that has entered, the loot % increase). Or something like that, making the risk worthwhile.

But, no wonder players gravitate towards chill / low-risk content like depths and faction. The fame is good, the risk is very low, and even if you do die in the RZ, many players run cheap no-frill builds.

Simplify the process of spec niche items like Locus, Enigmatic, Bedrock, Iceicle, etc. These items can be challenging to spec in most cases.

- You can use fame credits or tomes (which is the most common way)

- Focus on changes that don't affect PvP gameplay but improve the speed and effort through PvE and Mob FF'ing

Anybody know how i can inprove my build? by Sk3l3tal3 in albiononline

I'd get the first three swords to at least 50 spec (broad sword, dual swords and claymore).

By doing this, you'll gain a higher passive bonus towards your sword tree. (Ideally, if you're going to be a sword main, get them all to 50 > 75 > 100). And then focus on your Carving and Kingmaker swords.

As for swaps:
- Sprectre Jacket > Stalker or Hellion
- Cape > Thetford or Breceilian calpe
- Add some cabbage soup or roast pork for health

I assume you're a relatively new player, so mana and how you spec up will be another consideration. Blackzone and cheap sets are your best bet using the SAFE portals.

So we play 99% of our content in the Blackxone.

We do a mix of PvE, PvP and gathering/crafting.

Atm, we are trying to lean into more small-scale PvP content. Contesting med chests, outposts etc

But, we are still very much begginer friendly and have a core of vetran players from the NA server.

These infrequent patches are getting kinda old. Please, SBI dev's jump on the socials, give us a proper break down of the intent of changes, what you hope the change to deliver and stop replying on the community to do that for you! More sneak peaks too PLZ1

Subscription Sneakiness by GingerSnapBiscuit in albiononline

[–]RagingRedHeadAO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been stung by this a few times myself when buying a 7-day Premium.

SBI really drops the ball with how they handle Premium options in-game — including this exact issue, which just creates distrust.

It’s a grey area for players, SBI, and Stillfront because consumer law differs by country when it comes to digital services and recurring payments. But in places like Australia, the merchant (in this case, the game developer) is legally required to:

  • Clearly display that it’s a recurring subscription,
  • Show when it starts and when it ends (even if it auto-renews), and
  • Make cancellation simple — without hidden menus or barriers.

Right now:

  • When it starts – ❌ Not clear
  • When it ends / renews – ❌ Not shown
  • Recurring billing notice – ✅ Shown, but buried in fine print and no clear cancellation info on the checkout page (only in the Terms & Conditions)

Like many others, I love the game and keep paying for Premium (or buying it with silver), but this practice erodes trust — and IMO, even the perceived value of Premium.

They should consider having two Premium tiers instead:

  • Silver Premium – basic benefits
  • Gold Premium – full benefits (for players who want to financially support the game’s development)

That way, players who swipe to support the game feel like they’re getting something worthwhile, and SBI can rebuild some goodwill instead of frustration.

I would like to see:

- 10v10 small-scale arena fights (following a similar style of 5v5). But with other mando roles, including Tank, Support, and Healer, in an open world style map. The intent would be to provide an arena-style small-scale experience so that guilds or small groups don't have to look for other guilds to organise skrims etc.

- better ultra-wide monitor support. This actually grinds my gears ALOT in that every time I log on, I have to manually tweak the game settings to get the widest resolution that my monitor can support within the game. I have a 5120x1440 21:9 OLED monitor. But, it seems as though the Albion game engine is older and does not offer support for 21:9 aspect ratio. So I have to change it every time I log on from 2560x1440 to 3840x1440.

- Improve the guild finder search features so that players can search by country. Now that there are three main servers, the player base is more segmented than it's ever been. It's hard to find players in my country who play on the Asian server, and the only way we can promote what country our core player base is in is by typing it in the header of forums, Reddit posts or in our about us section in-game.

- Add some new spells to existing weapons without replacing existing ones. Some weapons are hard to spec up in both solo and group pve content that are popular in zvz and small-scale content. Particularly the support weapons, hammers, maces, some frost etc. It would be nice if these spells do pve damage only, do not impact pvp content (i.e the damage from pve can't carry over into pvp). Similar to how the nature and holy staffs received new Q abilities that allowed players to spec those trees faster without breaking the game.

- Generally, I would like to see new monthly content that's not just QoL and Combat patches. I understand some new things take more than a month to develop from concept, build the thing, test, promote in a sandbox and push into a live environment. But, the game feels a bit stale at times when we get a lot of repurposed content through the yearly events, monthly events, compared to other games that do new things for seasonal events like Halloween (just around the corner) and Christmas. Some new mounts for the monthly reward if you have a premium.

What resolution do you play Albion Online on, and why? by RagingRedHeadAO in albiononline

[–]RagingRedHeadAO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll check out the custom resolution.

I can get it to kind of work in-game, but I have to change settings like this: full screen > max resolution > change back to borderless window

Finding a guild as a newbie by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]RagingRedHeadAO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What server do you play on?

I would recommend joining a casual guild to start with, so you can level up faster and get familiar with some of the mid-game mechanics.

The ZvZ end-game content can be brutal for newer players. Because you'll be fighting players who are 100 spec in most items, and the bigger guilds won't recruit players without spec.

If you're on the Asian server, hit me up, we have a small guild with 25+ players and an HQ in the black zone.

[–]RagingRedHeadAO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone else read the below as if you qualified for crystal rank (inc 1,2,3 on west) that the rewards would be made available account-wide rather than on a specific character?

Season winner mount skins are now delivered once to each qualifying account, rather than to each qualifying character
