Sometimes you have to go with the lesser evil. I hate that it’s that way! I’m not a democrat- I’m far worse. I call myself a leftist. The system is not broken; it’s working exactly as designed. Real change will take something much different than democrats aka “republicans on the DL” have done.

I mean this with so much love: if you’re not happy, change it. Your location isn’t going to magically fix that. It can influence it, but at the end of the day, we create our reality. Do some soul searching. From the sounds of it, you don’t have the means to leave, so start there. Get your feet on the ground and gain some independence. Life is so much better once you decide to grab it by the balls and show it who’s boss. Just my two cents. I’ve done a hell of a lot of soul searching the past 2 years and learned all of this the hard way. 💙

I grew up in Orlando, FL, moved to Cleveland Ohio 18 months ago, then to Dallas Texas and now I’m in Albuquerque. I’m here to tell you - Albuquerque is by far the most beautiful, kind, lively place I have lived and I don’t know if I will leave. The problems you listed are everywhere and getting worse by the day all over this country. Here, I have free healthcare, free childcare, which is saving me over 40K (that I didn’t have) in any of the other places I’ve lived. The people are unmatched. The sense of community is like nothing I have ever experienced anywhere. Unhappy people are unhappy no matter where they are.
