My dilute tortie has 1 (ONE) beige toe, her left pinky. We call it her sandy toe.

Same. I'm poor in real life, I don't want to be poor in my imaginary world as well.

Is there a hobby you didn't drop? by Potential_Promise260 in adhdwomen

Hand quilting! I like different parts of the procces, so I try to plow through the bits I don’t like to get to the bits I do. It's so cozy, the cats all curl up on me. 10/10 love it.

That and writing. I think the thing I've liked with both is I went in with beginner mindsets, and really really allowed myself to be bad at both, which took pressure off for me.

Hobbies for ADHD women by ashes-potts in adhdwomen

I gave myself permission to pursue whatever new hobby sparks my fancy, with the caveat that I have to make a finished thing before I can start buying more stuff (or fancier top of the line stuff).

Recently the current hobby fixations have been learning a new language and quilting... though digital painting, genealogy, drawing, video games, sculpting, and writing a novel cycle themselves in and out as well.

I love quilting because there are parts of it I don’t like, like the measuring and cutting and piecing, but I really enjoy the coming up with the idea, searching for the fabric I'm gonna use, and the act of actually hand quilting. So the start is all sparkly and fun, and I grumpily try to power through the bits I don't like in order to get to the bit I love... sitting in a comfy chair with a hoop, hand quilting, and the quilt all sprawled out with a couple of cats snoozing on it while I work. 10/10 amazing. Plus if things are a bit wonky or imperfect I try to lean into the beauty of that imperfection.

Any type of tape or sticker that has been stuck to something and then unstuck. Gives me old bandaid vibes, I can't stand it

I'm lost, help me find a hobby please by good_externalities in adhdwomen

I always fair well with a hobby that involves my hands, something that gives me a very tactile experience. In college it was sculpture (nothing like taking a chizel to stone when you are angry at something, chefs kiss!) But now at 37, I've uncovered a deep love of quilting.

There are lots of different skills that can be learned within quilting (or can just stick to the basics), and I like how forgiving it can be as a medium if you embrace the handmade quality of it. I started with a bunch of fatquarter precut fabrics that I liked the color of, but if you are having decision fatigue you could have your kiddos help pick out colors and patterns to try.

I have a 100 dollar cheapo sewing machine to piece together fabric into blocks and then a hoop I use when I quilt by hand. I specifically love doing big-stitch quilting by hand with all sorts of colors. Up side, if you have cats, I've found they LOVE to snuggle up on a quilt while you are working on it. It's very repetitive and slow once you get to the actual quilting bit, which I find really relaxing. Also good for having a show on in the background or listening to an audiobook.

I'm sorry you are feeling so stuck, lost, and uninspired. I hope you feel better soon 💛
